MELBOURNE TOMORROW

Day 14- A picture of you and your family
I'll do it after Melbourne. Believe me, there will be plenty of 'family' shots...

SO BASICALLY I'm off to Melbourne tomorrow! Woot. We are leaving the house at 5.45 am (=death). Mum and Dad are hanging in the Qantas Club while us kiddos have been told to stay at Maccas. Not normally my idea of fun, BUT WE'RE AT THE AIRPORT! I'm camera-ready, so be prepared for a tsunami of photographs on Monday. I'm warning you in advance.
Until then, PEACE OUT BROTHER
P.S Chris, you say I don't blog about you enough. HELLO THERE. HOPE YOU ARE WELL. HAVE AN ABOVE AVERAGE WEEKEND! CHEERS BRAH

Day 13

Day 13- A letter to someone who has hurt you recently
Dear [Name Protected],
PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE.
Regards,
Chloe

My cold has nearly VANISHED. For the past week my best friends have been a box a tissues and nasal decongestant. It's time to say goodbye. Hopefully I wont be seeing you guys again for a LONG time
On Friday morning I'm off to Melby (my awesome nickname for Melbourne), and I am SO excited due to the fact that I will have a camera, with which I will be taking innumerable amounts of photos, WHICH I will be posting here. The plane leaves at 7.30 am, so I'm thinking an early night tomorrow....
Meanwhile, I read the September issues of Harper's Bazaar and Madison, both of which were really good to read (during maths I guess anything other than the textbook is a good read). In one of them I saw the latest collection from Collette Dinnigan and my jaw literally dropped. All are white/gold/silver with intricate patterns and beading. Omagawd.

I love all the photos below, however they are all different sizes which IS SO ANNOYING being the perfectionist I am. i like my photos being the same size. Grrrrrrr.

Day 12

Day 12- How you found out about blogs and why you made one
Once upon a time, I was lounging around reading the (over-sized) pages of the Sydney Morning Herald, when I came across an article on The Satoralist. I saw that Scott Schuman (the creator) began it on a website called Blogspot. About a year later, after pondering over whether or not I should create one, I CREATED ONE! I guess I created it to express my creativity, to be able to let it out through some medium for my eyes only. After about one post I put the URL on my Facebook, being the totally unpredictable person I am (....?).

Today, inside, away from the pouring rain and with my warm morning coffee pumping through my vains, my English class finished the 2009 BBC version of Emma. Let's just say that I loved it to BITS and that Johnney Lee Miller, who played Mr. Knightly, is quite the looker (AKA = MASSIVE BABE). If one Friday afternoon you have nothing to do, and are sitting by the window staring out into nothingness, or graffiting with permanent marker on the faces on the front of the newspaper, I DEFINITELY recommend briskly walking up to Video Ezy and renting it. Full of periodical-19th Century-courtship-tight-dressed goodness. So. Good.

I also discovered the most AMAZING (x1000) website called Lookbook.nu. HOW COULD I HAVE NOT DISCOVERED IT BEFORE NOW! Basically all the fashionistas around the world create a profile and post pictures of them and their 'looks'. It's really inspiring seeing everybody's unique styles (TO COPY! Jokes). Definitely worth 5 or so minutes of your life. NOW GO AND READ A BOOK.

Day 11

Day 11- Another picture of you and your friends
Yeah, sorry, can't be bothered. I'll do it tomorrow.

My cold, despite my hopeful remarks involving 'it' going away, has gotten worse. However, me officially dropping maths has made up for my lack of well being (for the time being). Next term can not come fast enough- all the subjects I am doing I LOVE, and I am also going to get a squillion free periods....yeah, you should be jealous.

Onto a more random note, I'm usually a fan of the photographer Steven Meisel's work (I actually think I dedicated a blog-post to him earlier in the year...or maybe it was a figment of my imagination....), but today I heard that his latest shoot for Vogue Italia was inspired by the terrible BP oil spill in the gulf of Mexico. I have 3 words for you Steven: WHAT THE HELL . Oh, and GET A LIFE.Seriously. Models dressed in feathers and nets to evoke images of the affected wildlife? It's kind of ridiculous.
And of course, it has stirred up debate on the web: crass exploitation aimed to drum up controversy (and newsstand sales), or work of art that serves to raise awareness? IT'S KIND OF OBVIOUSLY THE FIRST ONE. Stop exploiting man-made disasters as fashion statements! I vote that Meisel donates the equivalent of the cost of the shoot to wildlife programs helping the animals affected by the spill.

There is a little taste of what the shoot has to offer. Impressed? I WOULD HOPE NOT!

Now my rant is over with, I put it to you that I hope you are having a fine evening. Oh, that I want the shoes below. Steal them for me? Thanks.

SUN! *sniff*

Day 10- Songs you listen to when you are Happy, Sad, Bored, Hyped, Mad
Happy: Cosmic Love (Florence + The Machine), 1901 (Phoenix), Starlight (Muse), United States of Eurasia (Muse), Night Air (Teddy Geiger), One Year, Six Months (Yellowcard), Warp (Bloody Beetroots), Plug in Baby (Muse), Hysteria (Muse), Paper Planes (MIA), anything by Vampire Weekend, Signs (Bloc Party), anything by The Presets
Bored: Anything by Hey Monday, One of Those Days (Joshua Radin), anything by Florence + The Machine, Signs (Bloc Party)
Sad: Hide and Seek (Imogen Heap), Fix You (Coldplay), Let me take you there (Plain White T's), Drifting Further Away(Powderfinger), Winter Song (Sara Bareilles), Forever Young (Youth Group), anything by Death Cab for Cutie, Greys Anatomy soundtrack, Signs (Bloc Party)
Hyped: Time is running out (Muse), Warp (Bloody Beetroots).
Mad: Somebody Told Me (The Killers), Numb/Encore (Linkin Park).
Yes, I LOVE MUSE OKAY?!

Now that took a while. There are probably heaps more songs that are just not located in my brain's filing cabinet right now. My cold is nearly gone, and I am feeling very proud of myself due to the fact that as of 12:33 PM, I have 'worked out' for an hour, done some stretches and a half-hearted attempt at yoga, sculled an Edmunds & Greer coffee, and have written and timed my drama monologue. For you to properly understand my achievments on this fine Sunday, I must inform you that my usual Sundays consist of lying in bed, with a box of cookies next to me, slowly making my way through it until there are none left, going down stairs, finding more snacks, then going on Facebook until dinner. See? I have improved!

I think I have come to a conclusion with my 'Inception Theory'. WARNING! IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN INCEPTION SKIP THIS PARAGRAPH. In my opinion, Cobb (Leo DiCaprio), in reality, is a depressed man who can't get over the death of his wife, and is filled with regret and guilt. 'Inception' people are hired to help him to get over her death, planting the happenings of 'Inception' in his dream (basically the whole of Inception is a dream).
EVIDENCE FOR MY THEOREM: Throughout the entire movie they talk of how in dreams, you never know how you got to where you are. Cobb washes up on the shore at the beginning of the movie, and you never know how he got there. The opening of the film is also a series of fragemented visions, much like what happens in dreams. You know how they talk of the process of getting the client to believe what's happening? How they have to get them involved? That's the team of the 'Extractors', and they have created the sub-plot of Fisher and his relationship with his dad so lure Cobb in, to get him involved. Also, remember how in the movie, what is happening in reality is kind of reflected in the dream? Ellen Page, the architect (forget her characters name), in real life, is his physcologist, who in reality is working with the Extractors to help him escape his guilt and to continue on with his life. The movie ends with the screen going black, which is the real-life Cobb waking up, as the job has been done of him getting over the guilt surrounding his wife's death. Chris Nolan, the director, said that dreams always end at the most important part. SEE? I'm a genius.

P.S. This is what I'm going to do to my room:

P.P.S. I hope you will get off the computer now, as the sun is out!

GET OFF THE COMPUTER NOW! GO OUTSIDE!
Below is the perfect song to play whilst doing work/facebook/various other activities. Press play, minimise, and continue on with your intriguing happenings with Phoenix as your soundtrack :) The singing starts near the end...prepare for cute French accents...
Oh and check out their song 1901- it's one of my favourite songs ever...

P.S. I think I'm in love.....with the shoes below.

Day 09: Something you have done in the past few days which you are proud of.
1. WINNING STATE SHAKESPEARE COMPETITION (yieeww)
2. Getting through the the hockey grandfinal!

So I still have the sniffles, but it's getting better. WE WON HOCKEY TODAY so we're going through to the grandfinal! So excited. At the moment I am eating a sourdough baugette and chocolate freckles as a reward for our victory! I saw Inception last night and it was SO SO SO SO good....i'm interested in hearing people's theories as to what happened at the end. I can confirm it messed with my head. I may, at this minute, be dreaming....

I'm kind of going through another obsession with nail polish. Oh, and I found my favourite look from the Australian Vogue September issue:

I recently bought a see-through-ish top from my friend who makes all her own clothes, under her label AlexMarie, and I need something like above to wear under it. Love the leopard print. Now I just need money. AGAIN.

Hope you are having an above average weekend!
