The end's not near, it's here.

WARNING: Overly emotional/unstable  teenager
On the morning of my last day of high school I was at my train station, and I walked past the boy who gave me a rose on my last day of primary school. It got me thinking. On that final day of primary school it felt like the world was coming to an end. My friends, who I had been with since I started kindergarten aged 4, were all going separate ways. It was the most important day of my life thus far, and we all promised to be best friends forever, to have reunions, and to always come back and visit the teachers. Fast forward to Year 12, and I laugh when I think of primary school, and how insignificant the last day of Year 6 was. I've never gone back to visit, and I only keep in touch with about 5% of my Year 6 classmates.

Will I look back on the final day of Year 12 in the same way, 6 years from now?
No. With these people I'm genuinely going to be life-long friends. With these people I've laughed until I thought I was going to die from chest pains, cried about two Olympic Pool's worth of tears, matured into a reasonably adult-like 17 year old, been excessively immature, have had many "low points", however endless amounts of amazing, happy memories that I'll be thinking about when I'm an old grandma sitting on a rocking chair on the back porch of my retirement village. The fact that we've all figured out who we are together, and still all remain close friends means that our friendships will stand the test of time. Even if I'm not going to be seeing them five days a week! Although cheesy, the "Graduation Song" by Vitamin C has a lot of truth to it.
"As we go on, we remember/All the times we had together/And as our lives change, from whatever/We will still be, friends forever"

Yesterday was our graduation, and it was a really beautiful ceremony. We had the chamber orchestra play, heard amazing speeches from peers and our year adviser, and received our final portfolios. At the time I didn't think it was really the end. We've still got to complete our final exams, we have our formal, presentation day, and we'll be seeing each other countless times in the future. It was at home when it hit me, and I started crying. I'm not going to see these people every day, like I have for the past however many years. Some I may never see again, teachers included. Reading the amazing messages that people wrote in the back of my yearbook made me realise how precious the friendships that you form and consolidate in high school really are. While graduation isn't the end of these friendships, will they ever be a strong as they were during high school? I really hope will, because the relationships I have made with these people are definitely worth keeping forever.

Finishing high school is like being thrown into deep water. You struggle at first, but then eventually find your way back to the surface. For that I'm nervous and excited. Now it's all up to me. How I spend my days; how I spend the rest of my life. That's what's both scary and exciting- I can now begin to fulfill the dreams that have been swirling around in my head since Year 7, or Kindergarten for that matter. The scary part is that the onus is all on me. Will I disappoint myself? What if the path is rocky? But then the excitement kicks in. You only learn from your mistakes.Things won't always fall into place, and sometimes alternative routes to my goals may lead to even better things.  The world is now my oyster, and it's time to make things happen.

Here's to the future!

Time to say goodbye.

Tomorrow I begin my final week of school. WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH #fml.

I've been thinking for a while about what to write here, in regards to the end of high school. Do I write about what I'm going to miss? Low points? High points? Today I'll begin with "What I'm going to miss".
WHAT I'M GOING TO MISS:
-First and foremost, my friends. Without friends, I'd be nowhere.
-The relationships that you have with teachers in year 12. They're more friends than teachers.
-Having somewhere to go every day-having school as a security blanket. Next year I could sit at home watching Keeping Up with the Kardashians for the entire day if I wanted to. NO CHLOE, NO.
-Buying $2 strawberry frozen yoghurt from the canteen on hot days.
-The common room. Dirty fridge, hot wall and poisonous heater included.
-My coffee parents at Central Station. I still don't know their names after 3 years.
-Spending free periods trawling the Top Shop and ASOS websites, but never buying anything.
-The tension when the final bell is about to go, and everyone is preparing to run for the first bus.
-That feeling of satisfaction when you finish a set of exams.
-Being a high school senior in general. Nothing is as liberating as wearing a year 12 jersey.
-My subjects. My major works were my babies, and I am really passionate about my subjects. It's sad that now it all comes down to a few final exams.
-Providing free therapy to each other!
-Walking to Fox Studios, buying $2 boiled rice and Subway cookies, and eating them on the grass.
-Free periods in the common room when the grade has maths.
-My year group. I couldn't have asked for a happier, more wonderful bunch of girls to spend the latter part of my high school career with.
-Buying $1.20 pink cupcakes every afternoon.
-Drooling over boy-bands.
-SCHOOL. Everything about it. I spent the majority of my junior years complaining about it, but now that it's actually coming to an end I've realised how lucky I've been.

WHAT I'M NOT GOING TO MISS:
-The uniform. It quite literally looks like a piece of shit.
-The bus-stop in the morning. There's nothing quite like 14 year old boys pushing and shoving their way onto the bus to start your morning. Last week the bus driver told them to let a group of girls on first, and one shouted "WHY!?".
-Exam periods. Enough said.
-Hot days in class with no air-conditioning (public schools 4lyfeee xoxo).
-Angry teachers.
-The night before an assignment is due.
-Morning classes (having to catch a 7.00 train to get there).
-Not having enough money to buy a coffee.
-Annoying junior students.
-Pressure.
-Those days when you have zero motivation.

We had our muck-up assembly on Friday, complete with a dubstep cover of our school song, our skit "Finding Mimmo" (of which I was the narrator), our own version of "Under the Sea", and an emotional medley of songs at the end. The theme was "Oceans 11" (Because we are the class of '11..derrrp), so we all looked pretty cool in our sea-themed costumes. I was Mamma Mermaid, and wore the mermaid tail that I wore to my 5th birthday party (don't ask), a stupid hat, and an apron with dolphins on it. I'm really cool.

Yesterday my friend Cam got married, and it was one of the most BEAUTIFUL weddings I have ever seen. The church was just like the one which I posted a while ago (where Kate Moss got married), and the amazing weather made the scenery look like it was out of a fairy tale. Oh, and Cam looked INCREDIBLE! If I ever get married I'm just going to show a wedding planner a picture of Cam's wedding and say "do this kthnxbi".

I hope that you all click cross on my blog right now and go out and enjoy the sunshine (if you live in Sydney). STOP BEING A CYBER HERMIT AND LIVE LIFE! (I should really take my own advice). Today was semi-productive though- I wrote a giant list of things to do in the period between the end of the HSC and the commencement of uni. It's going to be awesome. Enough said.

P.S. I absolutely love a good cartoon. This one is wonderful! It's exactly what I think about when I sit out and look at the stars (yes, I know that I'm lame). Star-watching really puts things in perspective.

P.P.S. Click here for an amazing audition on the X-Factor! She's incredible.

TROLOLOL.

So this morning year 12 organised a "Champagne Breakfast" at a park next to our school to celebrate our final days of school. About half-way through we noticed a woman standing with her dog behind a tree. On her phone. Looking at us. We slowly and subtly put the champagne away, and two girls went down to walk past her and suss out what she was doing. However, as soon as they got near her she started briskly power-walking in the opposite direction.
We return to our breakfast.
Then a police car turned up.
We quickly put the drinks away, and the car just did a loop and drove off into the distance. Well all returned to our breakfast. Then our school deputies turned up. Basically we told them that we were only drinking non-alchoholic wine, and offered them some of our pastries and fruit. They were really nice, and just told us that school started in 20 minutes and that we had to be in class. CLOSE CALL, close call. Lucky no-one was tipsy/drunk, or the end of the story wouldn't have been so pretty.

I've been a bit slack with the Blog Challenge, so I'll answer some now to catch up.
1. 5 things that irritate me about the same sex/opposite sex.
I couldn't really name 5 specific things. It really depends on the type of guy. There are some guys with more than 5 things that irritate me, and some with none.

2. The best thing that has happened to me this week.
Probably finding out that I came 3rd overall in Modern History! I worked really hard for the subject (I.e. neglected most of my other ones) so it was rewarding to see it pay off.

3. How I'd spend $10 000
Every dress of ASOS, holiday to Glastonbury Festival and around Europe, invest $1000, give a bit to charity, and put the rest into savings.

4. Would you rather be stranded on a desert island with someone you love for 10 years, or someone you hate for a month? Explain why.
I guess I'd go with the option "someone you hate for a month". While we'd ignore each other at first, eventually we'd get so desperate to interact with another human (to prevent us from going insane...think Cast Away) that we'd start conversing. And who knows, maybe we'd learn to like each other over time.

To finish off this post, I'm posting this video. Jamie Campbell Bower (actor/lead singer of The Darling Buds) is so talented. Who can sing that well when they're clearly off their face?

Day 8: Three wishes day
1. For a happy life filled with happy moments and happy people
2. To be able to look back on my life when I'm in a rocking chair and think "Wow...you rocked gaaaallfriend"
3. FOR THE HSC TO JUST FINISH ALREADY. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK!?

So yesterday was the 10 year anniversary of 9/11. I honestly can't believe I was only seven years old when it happened- I still vividly remember that morning. Yesterday I was scrolling down my newsfeed and I was so sickened to see some of the comments people were making about 9/11, some even making jokes about it. Any loss of life is a tragedy. No wonder people think so lowly of our generation...

Here is a beautiful photo of the lights which shone from Ground Zero in the place of the towers. There's something about the lights hitting the clouds which gives me goosebumps.

We shouldn't only remember the horrors of the event however. I read an amazing article from the New York Times called "In Love with Death", and it's about how we should "recall the hour of human decency", along with grieving and war. Click here if you're interested in reading the article!

I'm hopeless.

I CAN'T EVEN DO A BLOG CHALLENGE PROPERLY! I was just scrolling through recent posts and saw that I did the question "A song to match your mood" twice. COME ON CHLOE. SERIOUSLY.

Day 8: Something that stresses you out
Apart from school/exams, there's something which makes me want to throw a brick at someone who is riding down a hill on a bicycle. It's when people go "Yooooo hooooo!". Just writing that gave me goosebumps. Yooooooo hooooooooooooooo! GENSJIRGARUIEGNLADJKFNGKADFJG.

Soooo the majority of today was spent babysitting a beautiful four year old called Elyse. Since most of the kids I babysit are 10-14 year old boys, this was a MAJORRRR change. I literally had to watch her the entire time. Even when I'd put on a movie hoping that she'd sit down and WATCH IT she'd walk around and ask to play Mums and Dads. I put on the Barbie movie "Princess and the Pauper", and I am humiliated to say that I got so emotionally caught up in the story-line that I failed to notice that she was sucking the inky end of a texta, and that her teeth were now blue. After a minor freak out over the fact that her teeth could now be blue forever as a result of me getting caught up in a Barbie movie, I took her to a park for a play. For some reason she began to call me Mum, and you can imagine the amount of funny looks I got from the various other mothers at the park....

Here is part one of the amazingly bad-so much so that it's amazingly good-movie that is Barbie in Princess and the Pauper. DON'T JUDGE. BARBIE IS COOL OK!?

OMG

GEORGE CRAIG.
IN SYDNEY.
ME COMPLETELY UNAWARE.
BEING A DJ AT THE BURBERRY STORE ON GEORGE ST.
NOW LEAVING TO GO BACK TO LONDON.
GEORGE CRAIG.
SYDNEY.
AND I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW!

Yeah, incase you didn't get the message, George Craig (the guy whose band (One Night Only) I've been a fan of since he was 17 and when nobody knew who they were/Burberry model/my future husband) has been in Sydney for the past 2 days to be a DJ at the new Burberry store on George St. And yeah, I had no idea. I stopped stalking his Twitter a while ago (Yes, I'm a loser), so I had no idea he was in my HOMELAND until Eleni texted me last night after she found out. And now he's leaving to return to London. I COOOOOULD HAVE MEEEETTTTTT HIIIMMMMM BOOOHHOOOOOOHOOOOOOO. BOOOHOOO. Boohooo. *Sniff*

Now for the today's question in the blog challenge:
Day 7: A song to match your mood
I'm pretty chill at thaa momento (drinking tea, Tumblring, waiting for my Oporto dinner), so I'd probably have to say "Yoko" by Pegasus Bridge. It's a really beautiful song. They did it for Burberry Acoustic (George Craig did an acoustic cover of Chemistry for Burberry Acoustic-click here if ya'll interested).

FAN GIRL CHLOBEWAN

Day 6: Something that you're looking forward to
I'm going to state the obvious: FINISHING SCHOOL!
The HSC is next month, and after a few weeks into it, I'LL BE FINITO! Then it'll be the time for schoolies, formals, FLYING TO THAAA YIEW-ESH-AAYY (USA), Christmas, New Years, and UNIIIII.
I just finished my personal statement for my scholarship application and it was a pretty weird feeling reflecting on everything that I've done throughout high school, and thinking about how close the end is. I know throughout the whole year I've been prepared to leave, but now it's sprung up on me and it's actually really sad! That said, Uni is going to be equally, if not more awesome.

Now for my post in relation to the title of this post (Yes, I like typing "post"). Throughout the past week I've released my inner fan-girl for three separate subjects:
1. One Direction: While they're songs are typical crappy boy-band pop, their music is ENJOYABLE crappy boy-band pop. Oh, and one of the singers, Harry, is 5 days older than me and has a beautiful voice and is generally beautiful and..and I'll stop now to save myself from further humiliation.Chloe? Liking a boy-band? Pffffftttttt no....*shifty eyes*
2. Boost Juice: For the past week Boost Juice have been doing daily challenges which you can do to get a free drink. Being the stingy student/Boost Juice loving weirdo I am, my friends and I have been just about every day to get free Boosts. I've sung "Fruit Salad" by the Wiggles, danced to "Can't Touch This", said "Fried fresh fish, thick thistle sticks, Barry's bright Boost bananas" five times in a row without a mistake, and today mimed being a blender for 30 seconds. There's not much I wouldn't do for free food.
3. Ban Ki-Moon: I was staying at my friend's apartment last night, and we saw a giant police escort pull up outside the Opera House. We ran into the Opera House to see if we could see anyone famous, without success. We went back outside, and stalked the number plates of some of the cars of the entourage which were parked, and we noticed that they said "Visitor of Australia", with special flags and all. Hanging around trying to find out who was inside, we asked a nice-looking granny if she knew, and all she said was "Have a nice night", and walked off. A bit disheartened, we went back to the apartment to get dinner ready, and when we went out to eat it on the balcony ALL THE CARS WERE NOW PARKED OUTSIDE THE APARTMENT! Turns out this mystery "famous person" was dining at Aria, the restaurant below my friend's apartment. Basically the end of the story revolves around us stalking the entourage for an hour and a half, and then at 11.30, in the span of about 30 seconds, Ban Ki-Moon comes out of the restaurant and into an awaiting car. COOL OR WHAAAAT!?!!?

Fathers Day Weekend mega-post.

Day 5: Something you're afraid of
I used to freak out whenever I was in a car going over a bridge, but I've gotten over that. I also used to have a REALLY bad fear of heights, but when I was at Disneyland I made myself go on the Tower of Terror, and since then I've been fine. Kewl stori bro.

NOTE: I intentionally didn't put an apostrophe in "Fathers" (in the title of this post) because WHERE IS IT SUPPOSED TO GO!? Before the "s"? NO. After the "s"? NO. So let's just avoid it all together to save me from grammatical damnation if I were to place the apostrophe in the wrong spot? YES.

This weekend was unique. I ACTUALLY DIDN'T SIT AT HOME WATCHING ENDLESS EPISODES OF FRIENDS AND KEEPING UP WITH THE KARDASHIANS! Yes, you heard right. Chloe. Went. Outside.

Friday alone was quite jam-packed and fun-filled (yes, jam-packed and fun-filled). I got the last of my trials results back, English Extension, and I was actually relatively happy with them! Just glad the trials are now done and gone!  After school, I went to buy some new jeans. I brought my friend Alex, and I felt really sorry for her because I took such a long time going through all the different types of jeans. This is where I plan to begin my rant for this blog post: WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO JUST NORMAL JEANS!? I've always bought Levi skinny jeans. Nice and Easy. Find the style, find my size, buy. But no, Levis, in attempting to make their jeans avaliable to a wider market, have made it impossible for me to buy their jeans. I walked into David Jones, went straight to the Levi's section, and was met with their new "CURVE ID" range. If I have a larger ass, I buy one type, another type for big hips, and the list goes on. The problem was:
a) There were no normal skinny jeans for girls who don't have the qualifications for the other jeans (I.e. curves in one place or another).
b) I really liked the colour of the skinny jeans for the "DEMI" girls (I.e. girls with big hips). I don't have big hips, so none of them fitted me, which means that I couldn't get them. Basically there was ONE style which was for girls who aren't particularly curvy, and it wasn't even nice. Moral of the story? I bought the best jeans ever from Lee. Super skinny and a really nice colour.

After my jeans disaster, I went out for dinner for my friend's18th to an awesome place on Darling Harbour. The metre-long pizza's were amazing (especially the garlic chicken!). We then went to an insanely awesome karaoke place where I sung so many songs that I sounded like a 134 year old horse by the time I walked out. Upon walking out, I realised that the windows of our karaoke room were not tinted, so everyone on one of the busiest streets in Sydney could see in. That is, see my belting my heart out and dancing on tables.  I CAN NEVER SHOW MY FACE ON THAT STREET AGGGAAAAIIINNNN. On Saturday night, I went out for dinner with my extended family. I love interrogating younger cousins about their love lives.

Today has been awesome too. We woke up and had a Fathers Day breakfast (with cinnamon French toast and strawberries), and went to the Royal National Park. It was only when we had parked that Mum broke the news that we were going on a 4 HOUR HIKE. FOUR. HOUR. HIKE. You all know how unfit I am, and thus how horrified I was at the thought of having to move my legs constantly for 4 hours. Last time I went hiking it was in some mountains in California (where they filmed part of The Parent Trap), and since there were bobcats and bears, the people walking at the front and back of the hiking group had to carry guns. Yeah, wasn't too relaxing.
But today's hike was actually really enjoyable. The surrounds were so beautiful- the landscape changed from bushland, to desert scrubs, to the cliff tops. We found a beautiful creek which I'm going to remember for Summer- it was about 2 metres deep and crystal clear, with running water. By the end of the hike however, I was feeling pretty faint because I had run out of water and had only eaten two apples. Moral of the story: After a long hike eat a large McChicken meal. Fast food never tasted sooooo good.

I also found this beautiful photo on Dad's camera from when he visited my uncle who lives in Geneva, Switzerland. My uncle lives in one of the apartments across the river. SO. JEALOUS. Definitely paying him a visit when I have the $$.

Day 4

Day 4: A song to match your mood
The one in Shrek, where Donkey sings "I'm all alone, with no-one here beside me". "WHHYY THIS SONG CHLOE!????", your brain may be screaming in suspense. Well, my friend:
I was locked outside this afternoon. From the time I arrived home from school until 6.00pm. SIX 'O' *&%$&*& CLOCK. And it was absolutely freezing. Oh, and I had no food. Oh, and I hadn't eaten since recess. Oh, AND I COULDN'T EVEN FEEL MY FINGERS BECAUSE IT WAS SO COLD. OH. OH.

Despite the hell I endured for close to 3 hours this afternoon, today wasn't all too bad. Actually, it was very enjoyable. I started off the day with a great coffee, and then at school got the majority of my exams back. I have to say that getting surprisingly good results back in subjects which you genuinely thought you failed may or may not be one of the best feelings in the universe.

Now to continue reading Pride and Prejudice and stalking videos fresh from Reading Festival of Two Door Cinema Club and Muse. Sound geeewwdd to me!

THRE3

Day 3: Your parents
Mum: Is in love with Mr Darcy from Pride and Prejudice (so much so that she named our dog after him), obsessed with ABBA, a fellow coffee addict, loves all things Disney, is all-round loveable, writes messages in permanent markers on my bananas for school with messages such as "Have a WONDERFUL day!", goes a bit crazy when she has had too many marshmellows, is a pro at Singstar (she's gotten "Legend"), and is one of my best friends (cheesy but true).
Dad: A crazy (well not extremely crazy) scientist, very forgetful (has done things such as driven his car into work, forgotten that he did so and caught the train home), is a fantastic cook, hilarious, extremely intelligent and incredibly fun to be around. Don't particularly know what I'd do without him and Mum.

So today was spent:
-Reading Pride and Prejudice
-Going for a stroll in Surry Hills before school and bought a coffee from the hipster cafe complete with hipster waiters
-Sat in class watching movies, and doing absolutely nothing now that exams are over. Nooottt complaining! It's daaa llyyffeee!
-In my double free, my friends and I went for a walk to Bourke St Bakery. I've always heard people talk about it but had never actually been there. Went there. Ate a chocolate tart. Life changed.
-Went to the dentist. Relatively non-eventful.
-Watched one too many episodes of Friends. ILY ROSS!
-Thought about the fact that I'm going to America in less than 3 months and have so far saved ZILCH money. Hmmmm.
-Am now sitting at the computer Tumblring (Yes, I have made it a verb).
-I was just reading through old posts (I recommend that you all do so-it's hilarious. Just click a random date to the left of this post). I wrote this on the last day of last year: I actually burst out laughing at the fact that I actually managed to survive doing 3 major works.

  • 4 Unit English- finish reading Hope and Memory and also read the two bought books.
  • History Extension- START WRITING
  • Drama: find A BLOODY MONOLOGUE (or try and write one....?), do practice HSC papers, and read the millions and millions of booklets Surbs printed out for us

Deux.

Day 2: Your first love
The skater boy from Jimmy Neutron, when I was 10 years old. (FYI: This "skater boy" is fictional and animated). I thought he was so cool and I had a poster of him in my bedroom.

My most recent love?
MR BINGLEY FROM LOST IN AUSTEN. Basically Lost in Austen is about a girl obsessed with Pride and Prejudice who enters the world of the book through a cupboard in her bathroom (kind of like Narnia). The catch is that Elizabeth Bennet goes into her life, kind of like an exchange. So yeah, I'm pretty much all but in love with Mr Bingley (whatever love is). Below is a picture of him. Please admire.
Since finishing Lost in Austen, it inspired me to buy Pride and Prejudice. That's what I did today (as well as check out some universities which where having open days. I'm in love with the University of Sydney, and I'm about 99% set on a course. CAN'T WAIT FOR UNIIIIII!!!!). Why can't guys in today's society be like the men in Pride and Prejudice. WHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. WHY WHY WHY WHY.

DAY ONE BRO.

(If you're not quick-minded, I'm referring to the 'DAY 1' of the blog challenge that I announced yesterday).
And may I say, it is quite a fine day indeed to be beginning a challenge. WHY???? You may ask. WHYYYYY IS IT SUCH A GOOD DAY TO BEGIN A CHALLENGE ZOMG?? Well, my friend, I'll put an end to your suspense.
I OFFICIALLY HAVE NO MORE DRAMA PRACTICALS! Now you're probably looking around thinking "Cool....what ever that means....I'm going to click cross on this blog and read something else". If you're still reading, I'll explain. MY HSC DRAMA PERFORMANCE WAS TODAY! Yep, no more practical drama for me! I was SO NERVOUS before both my group performance and my monologue (I become a nervous wreck and pace back and forth silently), but once I got in the room all the nerves all but evaporated because the markers were so lovely! Both performances went so fast and I'm so glad that it's finito! No more playing a crazy lady from New York or a left-wing feminist in the Cold War!

DAY 1: Introduce yourself and say 10 weird facts about yourself
Oh Hai dere. The name's Chloe. I'm a 17 year old teenager based in Sydney, Australia, Planet Earth, The Universe, etc etc. I can't play a guitar but one day plan to, drink too much coffee, love history, being sarcastic, internet shopping, want to travel around the world like every other reasonably sane teenager, music, dream about going to Glastonbury Festival and watching Muse perform on the Pyramid Stage, Harry Potter (that's a given), being a drama kid, frolicking in fields and being overly optimistic about life in general.

TEN WEIRD FACTS
1. I'm a terrible sleepwalker. Mum used to have to write it on camp forms. I've unlocked doors, sprinted down streets, thrown a bottle of coke at someone's head and have screamed at my Dad saying "I NEEEDD TO GOOOO TO WORRRRKKKK!!!", despite me not having a job. He said to me "You've been sacked" to try and get me to shut-up, and he said that I simply said "Oh", and went back to my bed and that's that.
2. I used to teach myself Spanish off the internet on a regular basis, to the point where I could actually win an argument with all the rude comebacks I knew.
3. I play "fruit ninja" upside down on my iPhone.
4. My twin sister and I used to play the same kid on a TV show when we were very tiny.
5. I eat apples really weirdly. I bite a chunk off, then hold it and munch it separately.
6. I've only ever gotten one type of drink for the three years I've been going to Easyway-Honeydew blended ice with grape jelly.
7. I have two dogs- one called Mr Darcy of Oatley (my Mum's obsessed with Pride and Prejudice), and Daisy (after the character in the Great Gatsby)
8. I have an obsession with Neenish Tarts, but I always eat everything in it except the jam.
9. I am a pro at the Wiki Game.
10. I find Alan Rickman extremely attractive (The weird part is that he's only two years younger than my grandma).

If you don't think that I'm a sleepwalking, spanish-speaking, grandpa-loving weirdo, and feel like a laugh, then watch the video below. It is actually hilarious. WATCH THE ENTIRE THING! It gets absolutely hilarious after 2.30.

Funniest ad series ever.

Or am I just extremely over-tired?

P.S. I'm also starting a new "40 Day Blog Challenge". Most of you who have been reading my blog for a while would have witnessed my one or two attempts at trying to stay committed to them, but for those who don't know what it is, basically the challenge consists of 40 questions which I answer. Since 40 is a lot, I might answer a few a day, and the ones in this challenge are really good (not just "wat is ur favurite fewd"). STAY TUNED BRAH.

I SURVIVED MY HSC TRIAL EXAMINATIONS! Does that make up for my lack of posts? I am spending my first night of freedom writing this, having a bath, and watching Lost in Austen with Mum. Sounds geewwwwddd to me.

I haven't posted for a while (as we have previously established), and lot's of things have happened. I shall proceed to list them in bullet-points.

  • I had my extension history exam. Not fun. 190% not fun. Add three zeros to that number and it will not capture the un-funness of the exam. For the first essay, we had to incorporate a source that was half a page long, and the only part I understood was the first sentence. For the second essay, I had write about historical re-interpretations of convict women in relation to the quote "Truth is always history's first casualty". I would rather lay on a bed of nails whilst watching slugs hump each other than re-live that exam experience.
  • The train trip on the way home from that exam DEFINITELY made up for the horrors I had recently endured. Defintely. Made. Up. For. It. Phoebe and I were sitting in a double-seater going through our legal text-books (legal was our next exam) and a young gorgeous guy sits down opposite us. He points to Phoebe's legal text book and asks in a really thick (and equally gorgeous) American accent "Are you two students of the law?". We got talking and eventually I ask "Which Uni are you at?". And he goes "I'm on exchange for a semester at UNSW, but I'm a first year Harvard Law School student. Have you heard of it?" HAVE I &^%$&*% HEARD OF IT. HAVE I *&^%&*^ HEARD OF HARVARD &^*&%$# LAW SCHOOL. Yeah, turns out he is a "student of law" at Harvard Law School. For the rest of the train trip home he helped us (YES HE HELPED US-A HOT YOUNG HARVARD LAW STUDENT HELPED US YIPPEEEEE) with our essay plans for international law. When he got up to get off at the station to go back to his host family, he said "Good luck with your exams girls. Who knows, maybe I'll see you again at Harvard". I was still stuttering/blushing long after that station. Still feeling like that now actually. Needless to say, my life is complete. 19700% complete.
  • Dad booked my return ticked home from LA for when I finish school. Window seat, and lands early in the morning of the 7th of December. It's all becoming real! Weeeooww.
  • Had my legal studies exam today, and for an essay component basically we have to talk about international law in relation to what's happening in the world right now. That means having to continually update my essay so it isn't branded as 'outdated'. One of the things I focus on in my essay are the events that are occuring in Libya as we speak. I went to bed happy knowing that my essay is up to date, stating that the UN has spoken with the rebels and the regime and are hoping for a "peaceful transition", and then I come downstairs this morning, to find that while I was asleep the rebels had nearly overthrown Gaddafi with the capital torn apart by violence. Nootttttt so peaceful. That means re-writing that part of the essay.
  • I don't know how it happens, but after every set of exams I always find myself following Phoebe around the city watching her shop. Today she found (well I found it for her because I'm just an all-round amazing shopping partner) her formal dress and it is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! Took one-to-many photos on my phone of it.
  • I'm obsessed with the website ASOS (click it to go to the website). I've JUST made an account, but am attempting to have some control on my behaviour by only purchasing a hat. It is a very nice had indeed. A red, brim hat. SOOOO NICE. I've been wanting one for a million and a half years.
  • Who else agrees that the clip below is the best ending credits (from Tropic Thunder) ever in a movie? I still haven't managed to watch it without laughing. Tom Cruise is actually a legend.

PHEWSKIES

Survive double exam day: CHECK! WOOOOOOOOOOOO
So yeah, on Friday I wrote out 7 essays, all in the name of trials. Wasn't too pleasant; so glad it's over.

Want to know what was equally unpleasant? My decision to follow Dad to his session with his personal trainer this morning. I nearly died. So. Unfit. I couldn't even do a girly push-up. The events of this morning inspired me to start exercising properly again so next week won't be as hell-ish! OPERATION GET FIT PHASE ONE INITIATED.

After training, Phoebe and I walked to Edmunds, and when we were walking past the shops on the way home, my yoga instructor ran up to us and asked if we would like to start babysitting her daughter every Saturday. HELLOOOOO MONEY FOR AMERICA!

Now for some random thoughts:
1. I've been reading Tony Blair's autobiography 'A Journey'. I began reading it because I thought it would be useful for Modern history (for the Northern Ireland peace process topic), and he writes so well I couldn't put it down. Literally.
2. Jennifer Hawkins=??????!! Saw pictures of her on the Myer catwalk and she literally looks like a barbie. She's had so much work done to her face that she's almost unrecognisable. It's kind of hilarious but scary at the same time.
3. The photos from Kate Moss's wedding are so beautiful...if I ever happened to get married I would basically just copy the whole wedding. Minus the druggo husband.

P.S. For your own entertainment. How ironic that she performed on 'America's GOT TALENT'. Tro
lololololoololololol

Wow.

I'm still trying to comprehend what's currently happening in London and around England. The images on the news are images of total chaos and disorder, and it seems as though what began it all in the first place has now become irrelevant. On the news, I'm watching videos of kids younger than me breaking into shops, and people of all ages completely destroying the fabric of the life in which they live. I'm just hoping that the government addresses what started it all in order to put an end to this before the rioting infects even more of England and even more damage is made as a result of this looting.

On a less dark note, MY ENGLISH TRIALS ARE OVER. Well advanced English anyway. We had paper 1 on Monday, in which we were examined on the core module, Belonging, and one of the unseen texts that we had to write about was regarding pragmatic politics and Earth Hour. If you can tell me how that relates to belonging, I'll give up my Muse tour t-shirt (Jks....but seriously). Today we were examined on everything else, and I ACTUALLY MANAGED MY TIME! The Hamlet question was pretty difficult, so how does Chloe deal with difficult questions? I write down every single damn thing I know about Hamlet, whether it's relevant or not! Yay for ineffective but all the more reassuring exam tactics!

I rarely trawl Youtube (only during exams when I'm locked out of FB), and I came across this video of a girl's cover of Hide and Seek. She has succcchhh an amazing voice, and her piano arrangement of the song is equally amazing. Listen to the whole thing-it gets better as it progresses!

PRE-EXAMS: Chloe's weekend in reviews

Yeah....so this weekend was not at all jolly, except for a few minor exceptions. Here my weekend in bullet points:
- My weekend largely consisted of lots and lots and lots and lots of study. A lootttt of study. As in 10 hours on Saturday alone. I think I am entitled to bragging rights for nerd-dom.
-Went on a trip to Officeworks with Dad and went over board with buying cool pens for exams. Seeing as though I'm writing 15 essays/creatives, I believe a sturdy pen is crucial. That's what year 12 does to you-you learn to appreciate nice pens. I spend a good deal of time laughing in Officeworks (Yes, you are entitled to a laugh or two in year 12) at some of the names of the pens. What ever happened to just calling a pen a pen? Black or Blue? According to Officeworks, I'm doing these exams with a '1.2mm Atlantic BIC'.
-I had lunch with my uncle who was out from Switzerland, and told me that he is friends with the manager of Boy and Bear. FIEUSGHSUIDFGHIFDUSGH. HUIGRHGIUSDHG.
-My little brother came home from the shops with a can of Lynx. He's in year 5. I asked him why he got it, and he said "To make me smell nice". He then sprayed it onto his wrist thinking that you apply deodorant like you apply perfume. So much love.
-I AM SO ANGRY THAT THEY ARE SPLITTING UP THE MASTERCHEF GRANDFINAL AND PUTTING AN EPISODE OF THE PATHETIC SHOW 'THE RENOVATORS' IN BETWEEN'. It almost makes me not want to watch the grandfinal in protest. But I will anyway, because I'm addicted and I can't help it.
-I can't believe the media circus surrounding the poor girl who had the bomb strapped to her neck. She wants to get on with her life, so how is a daily reminder of the event that comes with the media pack camped outside her house going to help her move on? The attention should be focused on the issue of extortion and finding the perpetrator, not that the victim went for a swim at 6.30 in the morning with a 'male companion'. At the press conference her Dad said that they want to get on with their lives as normal, and then on the NATIONAL news the next day there is a video of him collecting the newspaper in the morning in his pajamas. Seriously?
-I listened to the song below and my ears nearly started crying-LISTEN TO THE WHOLE THING! It gets worse as it progresses. It's amazing how a pop star can nearly ruin one of your favourite songs. Thaaaannksssss 'Jessie J'. It's so obvious that she's attempting to show off as much as her voice as possible-it's almost like musical vomit.  It wouldn't be half as bad if she left out off the wanky, unnecessary "oh yeah" "oh oh oh oh oh oh yeah". Lol.

CONGRATUMALATIONS PEEPS!

Blogspot kindly informed me that last month saw the highest number of people read my blog ever.....WOWZAAA.
I'm still in shock that so many people actually care (to an extent) about what a not-very-wise, emotionally unstable, 17 year old coffee addict from Sydney has to say! All I have to say is YOU ARE AWESOME.

On the bus this afternoon there was a picture of Bear Grylls (so sexy), which got me thinking about his TV show (Yes, I had a phase where I would watch it all night with my little brother), which got me thinking about him eating disgusting things which got me thinking about the video that I have posted below. Watch it or die.

P.S. My little brother just read this post and said sadly "Why didn't you say that I was sexy? I'm the sexy one, not Bear Grylls". He is 10 years old. I have taught him well.

HAHAHBAHAHAHQAHAHAHAHAHAHAHBAHAHAHAHAHAHAHABHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Oh boy.
I just had the pleasure of reading post I wrote before school went back for this term.
Here are some highlights:
Blog post:"I'm going to get fit and healthy again (YES I MEAN IT)"
Reality: I've been snacking on crap 24/7, and the only exercise I've been doing is walking between classes. As a result of eating crap, I feel like crap, so I went to Coles with Mum and we just filled a trolley with....wait for it.....HEALTHY THINGS *gasp*. This week is Chloe's Detox Week.
Blog post: "I'm going to deactivate my Formspring (I don't even know why I have it)"
Reality: Still have my Formspring, still don't know why I have it. I rarely go on it anymore anyway so I guess there's no point in me deleting it. It's always there for entertainment I guess!

However, as I was reading through that post there were a few occasions where I gave myself a mental pat on the back-I ACTUALLY DID SOME OF THE THINGS!
Blog post: "Start yoga again (I don't know why I stopped)"
Reality: Youuuu guessed it! I am yet to book in. With exams next week, I'm going to call up my yoga place tomorrow and book in for Wednesday's class. SEE! I AM CAPABLE OF DOING SOME THINGS I SAY I WILL!
Blog post: "Improve my time management (The last week of last term was a tad of a wake-up call, no?)"
Reality: I'm proud to say that my time management has improved! I've been writing schedules for every day, and, dare I say it, HAVE ACTUALLY BEEN FOLLOWING IT! CHLOE IS GETTING THINGS DONE!
Blog post: "SIGNIFICANTLY decrease my Facebook usage"
Reality: I got Mum to change my password. BAM. No more Facebook for Chloe until trials are over.

Speaking of trial examinations, if you are reading this and you are in year 12 in Australia, GO AND STUDY. Log out of Facebook and FACE your BOOKS. Wow that sounded funnier in my head. Apologies.

.....yes Chloe..

I just had the unfortunate experience of reading my 'overtired' post below and needless to say, I had a bit of a 'WTF are you going on about you sad loser' moment. Apologies. I hope none of you have long-term mental health issues as a result of my overtired ramblings.

Here are a few pointless but all the more insanely amazing but not particularly that amazing developments in my life as of 4.42 this afternoon:
-When I was playing Fruit Ninja, I had the mind-blowingly incredible idea-TURN IT UPSIDE DOWN. I flipped my phone upside down and now am even more addicted. The fruit falls from the ceiling and there's no gravity, so once you've cut them they fly back up to the roof. AWWWWWEESSOMEEEE.
-I'm going through a bit of an ABBA phase, and in no way am I complaining. My favs at the moment are Knowing me, Knowing you (I'm going to post the video clip for the video beneath due to it's hilarity, despite the song being about divorce) and Does your mother know.
-I had another coffee from my new place this morning, described in my post below. The waiters are so hipster that it's almost a scary experience having to order. So. Hipster.
-Is is sad that this afternoon I got excited when I remembered that I plan to go to the library tomorrow? I don't know what's wrong with me, but I love my Saturday ritual of buying a coffee at the cafe around the corner from the library then settling in there for the day. There is no better feeling than leaving when it closes and going home feeling so productive that you just can chill without feeling a tad guilty (especially when your trial examinations start next week)
-I'M SO GLAD ELLIE LEFT MASTERCHEF! Now Dani just has to go, and I'll have a huge idiotic grin smacked across my face.

RANT.BLAH, BLAH

Oh hai dere. I'm really tired. Yeah. Very. Tired. Very. Over. Tired. Which consequently means the making lame jokes that are unique to Chloe-overtiredness-syndrome.

Now, you're probably thinking to yourself:

WHY IS CHLOE TIRED! WHY IS CHLOE TIRED WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY OMG WAH WHY IS SHE TIRRRRREEEEEEED.

Ok, I think we all know that I know that you know that I know that you don't actually care all that much as to why I am tired, but I'm going to tell you anyway because it means that I don't have to work on my creative writing piece for Advanced English. On Monday night I had my group performance for HSC Drama trials, which went excellently (except for a slight malfunction with our props which involved our 'shelter' collapsing). THEN, last night I performed my monologue. SO SO NERVOUS. But it went well, so it's allll geeewwwwdddddddddd. I think the worst part of those two nights was missing two ENTIRE episodes of Masterchef that I am yet to catch up on.

COOL STORY FOR THE DAY:
I HAD THE BEST COFFEE OF MY LIFE THIS MORNING. I felt a bit mean, but I walked straight past the coffee couple at Central and wandered down the alley-ways of Surrey Hills, and I stumbled across an AMAZING coffee shop, which has a separate shop front devoted to take-away coffees. Needless to say, I am confident that I am going to become a familiar face at that cafe.

WOW...HI..

This is, without a doubt, the longest I have gone without posting. SO OBVIOUSLY THIS PAST WEEK HAS BEEN PRETTY CRAZY..
-My trials start in 2 weeks. 'Aint gonna be much fun.
-I haven't been able to fully focus on studying for trials because of the STUPID HAMLET ASSESSMENT that the teachers decided to put on last week. I think I went OK, but it could go either way.
-I have an Extension 1 essay due on Monday which is basically on postmodernism, and we have to discuss our selected theorists in relation to our chosen texts. Oh, and the catch is that before you hand it in, you have to submit it to the website from hell, Turnitin.com. Basically you upload your document and it tells you 'How Original' it is, and you have to print out your 'Originality Report'  and staple it to the front of your paper. Out of fear, I sat down and literally wrote my entire thing off the top of my head and got 100% originality. THANK GAWWWD.
-Tomorrow night is the trial examination for my group HSC performance..we got the hard part of writing the script over with and we're meeting up today to GET PHYSICAL.

So yeah, if that's not a good enough excuse to neglect my blog for a week, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS!
In other news:
-Hayden leaving Masterchef...I mean....WHHAHAHAHAHATTTT? I must admit I cried when him and Michael were saying their goodbyes...*sniff*. I checked out his website though and it's pretty impressive. Despite not even making it to the top 5, I reckon he's going to become more successful than previous winners.
-The Dalai Lama on Masterchef...biggest sell-out in my opinion...what's he going to be on next week, The Renovators?
-It's sad that Amy Whinehouse died (It's really very sad that such an amazing talent was lost to drugs), but I honestly cannot comphrehend the tragedy that has recently unfolded in Norway. Almost 100 young lives cut short..it's just so incredibly sad. To think many of those kids were my age and had similar hopes and dreams is just devastating.  Rest in peace.

I never thought I would hear my self saying this, but

I like LOVE CLASSICAL MUSIC.

Yeah, that's my cool story for the day. Haterz goin' hate, but BACH OFF (wow I'm hilarious...or maybe very overtired..I think I should go to bed soon?).
It all began when I downloaded 'The 100 Most Essential Pieces of Classical Music' off my Dad's computer, because I thought that it would be good music to listen to for studying (It's actually scientifically proven that listening to classical music improves your focus/concentration..just sayin')...and then it happened. I fell in love........... with....... Symphony No.5 in C-Sharp Minor (NO! I'm not that weird, I didn't remember the name of the song off the top of my head, I checked the CD). It goes for a little over 12 minutes and whenever I listen to it I actually just sit there like an idiot looking out into nowhere.

So tomorrow is the last day of holidays [insert hysterical crying/sobbing/depressing music]. I'm sad that they're over, but they were good while they lasted! It feels like forever ago that I was in Broulee with Eleni and Phoebe, that I saw Harry Potter (still haven't gotten over its amazingness) and it definitely does not feel like only a week ago that Dad came home from Europe! I'm not that sad about going back to school because I've managed to work my ass off a fair bit to minimize the pressure upon school's return, as well as being able to fit in some socialising here and there. I KNOW that I say this at the end of every holidays and then by the second week back I'm ranting about things like "0mig@wdd mi lyf3333 is s0000 h@RD I h8 sKewwl!" but I'm genuinely feeling really optimistic about this coming term. I'm going to get fit and healthy again (YES I MEAN IT), deactivate my Formspring (I don't even know why I have it), SIGNIFICANTLY decrease my Facebook usage (I NEED MORAL SUPPORT), start yoga again (I don't know why I stopped), improve my time management (The last week of last term was a tad of a wake-up call, no?) and I'M NOT GOING TO BE SO INDECISIVE ABOUT THINGS. I've always been really indecisive and I don't like indecisive Chloe.
It's my last school term of actual classes (term 4 is the HSC), so after trials it's going to be really nice to just sit back and have plenty of good times with the people I love (I know I sound like a sad, emotional teenager but you're going to have to deal with it until the end of year 12).

If I haven't bored you to death with my new-found love for classical music/emotional and pathetically optimistic words about school, then good on you! You have now done your good deed for the day. Pat yourself on your shoulder.

Loads of love,
Chloe xx

P.S. You know you're in year 12 when you find yourself google-ing videos of  'Miniture Schnauzer Puppies' as a means of avoiding school work. IT WAS WORTHWHILE PROCRASTINATION! Watch the video below (skip to around 40 seconds) and if you don't grit your teeth and naww at their cuteness, then send me your address and I'll come to your house and personally knock you out.
Hehe.

WOWZA

Just checked the statistics for page views (not that I particularly care about page views...if no one read my blog I'd still write-it's therapy)....AND WOW. LOT'S MORE READERS. HI THERE.
Here's a bit of an introduction for you:
Name: Chloe/ChlobeWan/Cloz/Clomo/Chlomeister
Age: 17
Location: Sydney, Australia
Interests: Music (particularly Muse and Two Door Cinema Club), the beach, traveling, reading, cooking packet-mix brownies, drinking too much coffee, star-watching, the male species, writing, Edmunds and Greer, being a drama kid, learning Spanish insults, Che Guevara, thinking about how I'm going to go to Glastonbury Festival one day, Harry Potter, pondering the meaning of life (I never really get anywhere apart from making my brain hurt), surfing and many other things which would probably bore you to sweet dreams.

So yah. Hi dere. I guess you'll get to know me the best and subsequently become my BFFL if you just read my blog from the first post ever (that I made about a year ago) to this one right here. Here's hoping you're not a freaky, lonely middle-aged man with a "special spot" for 17 year old Australian females.

Here's what I have to say today:

  • I'm in love with Alan Rickman despite our 48 year age gap....Mum pointed out that when I'm his age  he'll be dead. I'm happy to marry him now.
  • I'm obsessed with playing Fruit Ninja on my iPhone. I was playing it for so long last night that my eyes started going all fuzzy.
  • I personally believe that the best way to pass time on public transport is eavesdropping. On the train to the city there was a male and a female (who both looked around 26) who had been child-hood friends and hadn't seen each other since year 12 graduation. They were catching up on their lives and what they/mutual friends had done since then. It just made me hope that I keep in contact with all of my friends once school is over and that we won't drift apart like these two! The girl was saying that she moved out of home when she was 22, and when she returned home two weeks later her parents had already transformed her room into a bar! I got off the train and hopped on a bus to get to school, and I overheard an other interesting conversation (I sound like a stalker/weirdo but I had nothing better to do) that was between a brother and a sister who both looked like they were in their late 30s. The sister had just picked her brother up from hospital where he had gone with chest pains, and they hadn't talked for a while. He was telling her how he was addicted to drugs, had no money, and was recently homeless. She was giving him money to go to a home for Jewish people who are homeless, enough money to last until monday night. I really hope things work out for him!
  • I've been listening to Taylor Swift (don't judge me), and hate on me all you like, but I have to admit that some of her songs are really good to listen to, especially when studying. I really love White Horse...the lyrics + music are really cute/enjoyable.
  • I'm obsessed with Masterchef (I know you all know but I'm telling you again). THANK GAAAWWWWWWWWWWWD SUN IS GONE. I even made a Facebook group for the hilarious moment when she asked to use Hayden's deep fryer. JOIN IT! Even if you don't watch the godly show! CLICK HERE
  • When you type in 'Voldemort hugging Malfoy' on Google my blog comes up from when I wrote about it two days ago! Yiieew!

HARRY POTTER 7.2 VERDICT IN DOTPOINTS (Warning: SPOILERS)

It was AMAZING. I could not have asked for a better ending to the best movie franchise of all time. I was expecting to be terribly upset throughout the duration of/at the conclusion of the movie, but it was just so enjoyable despite the sad moments.
Here were my favourite parts/random thoughts regarding the movie as a whole:

  • The breaking into Gringotts scene COULD NOT have been done any better. The special effects with the dragon and in the vault (with the multiplying of the gold/silver) was absolutely surreal.
  • All of the young actors really lifted their game acting-wise and this made the movie all the more better
  • I was pretty disappointed that they left out the Grindelwald/Dumbledore flashback! I guess they had to fit it in to a time limit, but still.
  • Alan Rickman was absolutely amazing. Honestly, he stole the movie. Despite him dying NOT IN THE SHRIEKING SHACK LIKE IN THE BOOK, he played the part so well and I hope that he gets nominated for some huge award and wins it. The part where Harry watches Snape's memories was so beautifully done.
  • Ron and Hermoine's kiss, although not happening in same context of the book, was so gorgeous. Aaahhhh not disappointing at ALL.
  • I was disappointed that they left out the part where they go the to Ravenclaw common-room! Again, because of the time limit of course they would have had to leave some parts out, but I would have loved to have seen it.
  • The music was incredible. I'm definitely buying the soundtrack when it comes out.
  • NEVILLE LONGBOTTOM FOR THE WIN! I loved that they gave him a relatively major role!
  • Mrs Weasley could not have said the line "not my daughter, you bitch!" any more legendary! WOOO! Our entire cinema cheered.
  • The scene in the Room of Requirement was fantastic! The cinematography with the fire etc was incredible! Very true to the book.
  • FILCH IS AN ABSOLUTE LEGEND. I had tears of laughter when we came in saying "students out of bed, students out of bed!" and at the end when he was in the background of a shot with a broom attempting to clean up Hogwarts!
  • I nearly died laughing when Voldemort awkwardly hugged Malfoy. So. Hilarious. Voldy attempting to show some affection! Cuute.
  • The scene where Harry goes to meet his fate and turns the Resurrection Stone was sooooo beautiful. Seeing Sirius, Lily, James and Lupin there with him was pretty sad/nice.
  • The scene where Harry is in the sort of Purgatory with Dumbledore was EXACTLY how I imagined it in the book. And when he returns to Earth, I was so excited that they kept the part where Narcissa Malfoy checking to see if Harry was alive and asking about Malfoy. That part made me cry in the book :) Show's that everyone has the capacity for good and evil.
  • 19 YEARS LATER. ROFL AT EVERYONE LOOKING OLD. AAAAAHHH it was such a great end. So positive. And I love how they brought back the theme from the original movie!
  • Daniel Radcliffe: He absolutely mastered the character of Harry by the last two films.
  • Jason Isaac as Lucius Malfoy was amazing, and a special mention goes to Helena Bonham Carter for her perfection as Bellatrix Lestrange.
Overall I thought that it was absolutely fantastic. It was never going to be perfect, but it got pretty damn close. Everyone is saying it's the 'end of an era'. It's not-it's only the end of the movies coming out. The magic will only die if you let it! I'm not letting it die anytime soon :) As Alan Rickman said in an interview: When I’m 80 years old and sitting in my rocking chair, I’ll be reading Harry Potter. And my family will say to me, “After all this time?” And I will say, “Always.

MIXED EMOTIONS OMG WAH

I was studying at the library for 8 hours today. That's my cool story for you.

OH, AND TOMORROW NIGHT I AM SEEING THE FINAL INSTALLMENT OF THE HARRY POTTER MOVIES. I HAVE MY COSTUME, PERMANENT MARKER (to draw the Deathly Hallows symbol all over my body), AND BOX OF TISSUES PACKED. I AM SO TERRIBLY, ABNORMALLY EXCITED AS YOU CAN PROBABLY TELL FROM MY EXCESS USE OF CAPITALS. NGJO;DNGIO;UHSIUNDSF;HGODFJNL.

It starts at 12.01am (So technically I'm actually WATCHING the movie on Wednesday), and I'm getting to the cinemas at around 9.00pm (I'm going out for a friend's dinner beforehand). I've got a feeling that I'm going to cry when the cinema gets dark, and that I'm going to be sobbing by the time the Warner Bros logo comes up just before it starts (I'm hoping that a box of tissues will be enough to clean up the tears flowing like waterfalls from my respective eye ducts). CHECK THIS SPACE tomorrow afternoon for my review of what shall be the BEST MOVIE FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR/REST OF MY LIFE/REST OF THE WORLD'S EXISTENCE. Cause you know, I haven't got my hopes up or anything.

DAMMIT

So yesterday my winning streak of optimism continued:
1. My eye infection disappeared
2. MUM GOT THE NEW IPHONE AND GAVE ME HER OLD ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am now part of the iPhone crew. No more plastic phones for me.
3. I read the Harry Potter 7 Part 2 reviews that have been surfacing on the internet and it is safe to say that the movie sounds amazing. Oh, and Emma Watson looked AMAZING at the premiere!
4. I'm about 98.76% sure Dad bought me Chanel Chance while he was in Prague..BEST PERFUME EVERR. HNRUONWFUIOSDHKFNSDKG.
5. Matt got disqualified from Masterchef, and I nearly cried tears of joy. I have this conspiracy theory that he is actually a Death Eater (DOES HE LOOK LIKE ONE OR WHAT. I swear that amongst his revolting tattoos he has the Dark Mark). However, I WAS SO ANGRY THAT PETER WENT HOME WHEN PEOPLE LIKE SUN AND ELLIE ARE STILL IN THE DAMN COMPETITION. HESFOUFHSDUOFHSDFSD. Even though Peter is gay/middle-aged I have this emotional connection to him! Seriously! Whenever the judges are mean to him I want to give him a cuddle. So imagine my reaction when he left. But it was all ok in the end, because he seemed really motivated and optimistic towards achieving his dream. Naaaaww.

So yeah, yesterday was pretty sweet. Today is not.
I woke up with a mother of an eye infection IN MY OTHER DAMN EYE. MORE PROOF THAT KARMA HATES ME. It's so bad that I can't even do any work. Poo.

OPTIMISM

So yarrr, I just returned from my getaway to Broulee with Phoebe and Eleni. I had so much going on in that little brain of mine that I think that it would have exploded if I didn't get out of Sydney. Turns out that going down the coast was exactly what I needed in terms of clearing my head and relaxing for the first time in a while.

Here's the trip in bullet points:
  • Car trip down was hilarious. I nearly cried of happiness when we pulled in for a break at Berry and saw that a local cafe sold Toby's Estate coffee.
  • For the first afternoon we put sleeping bags out on the grass and literally just collapsed there playing music whilst soaking in the sun (I swear my skin hasn't seen the sun's rays since we inhabited the year 12 common room). I wore my bikini for the first time in AAAGGEESSS (yay for abnormally warm weather!).
  • Despite being on a beach getaway, we got addicted to the tv show The City. There is nothing better than crappy tv which doesn't require any usage of your brain.I actually want to slap Olivia across the face.
  • I got a substantial (and surprising) amount of study done! I'm a terrible procrastinator, so I had Phoebe lock me out on the balcony with a table, a chair and my textbooks
  • MASTERCHEF AT NIGHT. I'M SORRY, BUT BILLY GETTING ELIMINATED?? REALLY?? Hopefully he'll come back tonight when the revolting Matt gets disqualified.
  • I watched the Notebook and tried to be a typical teenage girl and cry at the end, but I failed. It's just so incredibly laaaaaamee/unrealistic.
  • We went horse riding down in the valley and I saw what must have been a group of 100 kangaroos. I hadn't been riding since I was in year 10 so it was nice to get back on a horse!
  • We went out for dinner on the last night, and when we drove home we played Eenie Meenie, by the one and only Justin Beiber, full blast. Definite guilty pleasure.
  • At night the stars were absolutely incredible. The sky was literally scattered with stars, and we could see a galaxy which was insanely amazing. It's so sad to think that those stars are always there but because of the smog we can't see them in Sydney.
  • I had the most amazing muffin at the Muffin Shop-Blackberry and white chocolate. Yuuumm.
  • One night we were walking along the beach and there were two guys, one of which was playing the guitar. Everything was so silent that all I could hear were the waves and his guitar.
  • I dreading my return to Sydney, but now that I'm home I'm really motivated/optimistic/inspired. I had so much going on in my head that the clean air of Broulee proved to be just what I needed.

Today has been spent watching Keeping up with the Kardashians. IT'S SO FUNNY. Shallow, but funny.
Almost as funny as the news report below. Watch the whole thing!

FUARK.

I can officially confirm to you that the week that just passed was in fact the worst week of my schooling career.
If you aren't up to date with the never-ending drama that was my Extension History major work, please read the post below before you read this!

So as I previously wrote, on the weekend I rewrote my major work from scratch (for the 5th time). I was so happy with it, due to the fact that I ACTUALLY UNDERSTOOD what I was writing about, and I was confident that my essay reflected this understanding. My previous essays didn't make sense because I DIDN'T EVEN UNDERSTAND IT.  I handed it to my teacher on Monday to read through (the final thing was to be handed in on Friday), and he gave it back to me on Tuesday (3 days before the final major work is handed in). Here's how our conversation went
Me: Is it better now?
Teacher: It was so shit that I was swearing out of frustration. Ask anyone in my staffroom.
Me: Are you serious?
Teacher: Chloe, you cannot hand this in. I guess all you can do is go back to your old one.
Me: The one that you said didn't make sense and is 1000 words under the word limit?
Teacher: Yes.

So basically I had 3 days to rewrite my entire major work and somehow manage to finish my 6000 word draft of my Extension 2 English major work. I was so stressed that afternoon/night that I actually could not eat or focus on anything-I literally just sat on my bed and cried because I no idea how I was going to finish either of them in 3 days. Over the next 3 days, I was so tired and stressed that I could hardly eat/didn't have time to eat. And I really love my food, so that's saying something.
Extension 2 English was due on the Thursday, and I finished it at around midnight the night before and handed it in just before the cut off (10am)! On Thursday, after I got Extension 2 out of the way, I didn't go to class and just chained myself to a computer where didn't get off it until I had written 2500 words. My year advisor was so worried about me that I literally had to have 7 meetings with her throughout the day (SHE'S SO NICE).
I couldn't believe it when I looked at the word count and saw that it read '2456 words'. I got home and worked on it until around 11 (managing to fit Masterchef into my schedule..yes, Kumar deserved to be elimintated), and when I printed out I literally just sat there looking at it wondering how the hell I managed to write my entire major work the day before it was due. The song 'Woman on a Mission' has never been so relevant to my life.
I handed it in at 2nd half of lunch on Friday, and after I signed it off I sprinted down the corridor at 345km/hour whilst doing a psycho dance. Once I arrived at the common room, I just collapsed on the floor in front of the heater and basically didn't move until school was over. Oh, and Cindy came back from Central Station with 8 tubs of Ben&Jerry's half-baked cookie-dough icecream. The day improved from there-on the way home I found $2 in my shoe, got a free coffee, and then at night went to my friend's 18th where I could actually relax for the first time in a long time. Bring on the holidays.

And that is my cool story for the day.

p.s. I'm going away to Broulee until Wednesday with Eleni (click here for her Tumblr). I'll do a mega-post about our adventures and some photos upon my return. Until then,
CHLOE :D

AMAZINGNESS

Need I say more?

P.S. Today when I was walking to Edmunds and Greer, I thought to myself "I think that it's time to stop getting a sugar in my coffee". I ordered one anyway (Why would I ever actually try and be healthy? Life's to short). When I collected it, my favourite barista (Sean, the one who looks like Zac Efron) said "Wait, you usually have a sugar, don't you? I forgot to put one in!". Needless to say, I drank my first coffee without a sugar and I can confirm that I will continue my coffee-drinking career without it.

P.P.S. Every time I go to watch the AFL I always end up freezing and getting sick. I went to Swans v Collingwood game last night, and for the first time in my life I actually put effort into wearing as many layers as I could to prevent getting sick for the holidays. I wore socks, tights, leggings, skinny jeans, tall boots, a tight singlet, T-shirt, long-sleeve top, huge knitted jumper and a thick black trench coat with a scarf around my neck and a black beanie on my head. I can confirm that my protection achieved my desired outcome (I AM NOT SICK! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO)

I HATE TECHNOLOGY.

I HATE IT.
Here's why:
I was on my Mac, was slaving away on my extension history (which by the way, is surprisingly coming along ok), and I had just reached 2500 words (the word limit). I had been working on it since 9.00am and it was now nearing lunchtime. Then the unspeakable happened.
The spinning rainbow of death appeared on the screen.
And I hadn't saved my work.
For those who don't have a Mac (lucky you), when the 'spinning rainbow of death' that I speak of appears on the screen, basically if you haven't saved you document you're &^%*&#. I honestly don't know what I did to make Karma hate me. Maybe it was when Phoebe and I were little and used to set ants on fire with our gas lighter.

Mum made me feel a tad better when she game home from shopping with a cute day planner from Typo (my new favourite shop), and a bag full of cookies from Cookie Man. I swear, when I hand in my extension history major work during the second half of lunch on Friday, I am going to walk out, kiss the floor, press play to the song below, turn it up full blast, and then embark on a victory lap of the school.

Boohoo (The WHY MY LIFE SUCKS EDITION OF FLOWER GIRL)

So here's a quick FYI before I begin my rant:
Due at the end of next week is my FINAL history extension major work, and my first (6000 word) draft for Extension 2 English.
Last week I handed in my second draft of my history extension major work to my teacher. He gave it back to me yesterday and here's how the conversation went- "Chloe...the girl who did this essay topic a couple of years ago made it make sense....you fail to do this. Oh, and the word limit is 2500, not 1700". SOOOOOOO NOT ONLY HAVE I GOT TO REWRITE MY ESSAY, I HAVE TO WRITE AN EXTRA 700 WORDS. Whhyyy oh why did I not know the word count?! And HOW can I make it make sense! It's analysing whether history can end!! So yeah, it's proving quite difficult

Grrrrr.

I've also become addicted to Masterchef. Great timing, I know. Hayden is quite easy on the eye. Kind of like a surfey, Aussie version of Zac Efron. Almost as yummy and delicious as the food on the show (was that too far? I thought it was funny. Or maybe it's me being delirious due to my 3 major works).
Oh, and George Craig (the British Indie-rocker who is my future husband. Click here for an image of the beautiful creature that is George Craig) has a new girlfriend. AND SHE'S A &$%;^%$* X-FACTOR CONTESTANT. I am seriously doubting his taste in women right now. Or maybe it's just me being a jealous teenage girl.

On top of all of this, I have run out of herbal tea, as well as money to buy coffee for the rest of the week. Oh, and my lips are sore and I can't find my Blistex, I lost one of my favourite skull earrings, I spent all my money on clothes just before I found out that Joshua Radin was having a concert on Tuesday night, I got a notification for my next English Advanced and Extension assessments despite our previous exams finishing less than a week ago, I am disappointed that Angry Boys isn't funny anymore (or ever was), Glastonbury Festival has started in England today and I am sitting at my computer in Sydney typing this instead of being there, my fridge is out of milk so I can't make myself a milo or an Irish breakfast tea, I did relatively crapply in drama, I should be doing History Extension but I'm typing this instead of actually making progress on my crap essay, but I can't make progress because I don't understand my arguments, I want to go to bed now but I can't because I have so much work to do, I can't wait until the holidays, but, oh wait, they're two weeks away, I keep telling myself to go for runs in the afternoons but here I am blogging inside whilst eating Oreos, AAAANNDD I want year 12 to end, but hey, that's not happening for a looooong time. LIFE IS LOOKING GOOD PEOPLE (lol jks).

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
I HAVE OFFICIALLY REGISTERED FOR GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL 2013 TICKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was literally last night that I made a pact with Phoebe, Cindy and Eleni that we would all attend the 2013 Glastonbury. Next year's festival has been called off because of the Olympic Games in London, so Phoebe and I went on the website this morning to discover that registration had now opened for the 2013 festival!!!
By then I'll be in second year uni and have a part-time job so it'll be all sweet. Oh, and Muse isn't playing at this year's festival (that starts at the end of this month), so basically it's a given that they'll be performing at 2013. WOOOOOOOOOOOO! If I have enough $$, I might even travel for a bit around Europe. LIFE IS LOOKIN' GOOD PEOPLE. LOOKIN' QUITE GOOD.

Other developments in my life:
-For part of these holidays that are coming up, Phoebe, Eleni and I are going down the coast for a bit of a break at a house on the beach at Broulee. It's going to be thaaa booommbbb.

-My Nan is knitting me a Gryffindor scarf
-I'm in love with my red velvet skirt. A tad obsessed.

P.S. I loooooove this song! I remember when Matt Corby sung it on Australian Idol (back in the days when people actually watched it) and I fell in love with both him and this song.

P.P.S. Just in celebration of Glasto 2013 registration
