2010 only ends once

Wow. This time last decade I would have just finished kindergarten. Look how much my life has progressed since then...I'm in year 12 now and in a year I won't even be in school. It's kind of sad and scary that so much can happen in 10 years. I wonder how different my life will be 10 years from now...

For me, while 2011 will have the occasional social gathering, my life will consist of school. I know that sounds depressing, but I don't want any regrets. It's only 3 terms, and after that I have the rest of my life to party as much as I want. I have worked pretty consistently throughout my schooling career and I don't want to let myself down in the final stretch. If my ATAR doesn't reflect how much I have worked I will be pretty disappointed, hence the draining of a portion of my social life. I think that if you are in my position, going into year 12, and hope to get into your desired uni course too, you should take up this mentality. Don't screw things up when it's only 3 more terms! 3 MORE TERMS OF SCHOOL. 80+ YEARS TO PARTY YOUR BRAINS OUT

I can't believe that we are already 2 weeks into the holidays! I have aside 2 more days to be free before I get off my lazy ass and do some school work. My To-Do List (Christmas Holidays Edition) consists of:
  • Fiftieth Gate questions
  • Belonging creative
  • 4 Unit English- finish reading Hope and Memory and also read the two bought books.
  • History Extension- START WRITING
  • Drama: find A BLOODY MONOLOGUE (or try and write one....?), do practice HSC papers, and read the millions and millions of booklets Surbs printed out for us
  • Ext English: Write out notes
  • Modern: Finish notes for WW1 and do some reading on Trotsky
  • Legal: Cry over my terrible exam mark, gather some articles on refugees, cry some more, eat Cornettos as comfort food, read abit of text book, and cry
So there you have it. My recent events have seen me swimming at Bundeena, going to ma homie's houses, getting sunburnt, saying Your Mum alot, drinking coffee, taking lots and lots and lots of photos (when my computer stops being a poo you will be able to see some), watching Pride and Prejudice, playing Wii and eating Picnic bars.

WANT TO KNOW something which really pissed me off? That stupid teenager who put up the naked photos of the AFL players. My Mum said "Good on her for exposing them for what they are!". I say: Good on the AFL lawyers for sueing her ass off. I got grounded for saying ''ass", but at least I made my point. What angered me the most is that now she wants to become an ambassador for girls who have been 'abused but AFL players'. HONEY. YOU WALKED AROUND TO THEIR CHANGEROOMS AFTER A GAME ASKING TO GO BACK TO THEIR HOTEL ROOMS. Oh, and she also has a criminal record. Not exactly the ideal ambassador. I have a better, more appropriate term to describe her: FAME WHORE

Productive.

I've figured that the best days are the ones which are spontaneous. Today Cindy called me and said "I'm on the train now, see you at 12 at Town Hall?". I had forgotten and was lying on my bed eating a Picnic Bar. I leaped into clothes, packed my camera, sprinted to the station and jumped on a train....AND I ARRIVED IN TIME! It ended up being a cute day with Phoebe, Cindy and Eleni. We were going to see a movie but ended up trying to get up Centerpoint Tower, and failed- you HAVE TO PAY MONEY TO GO UP. GAH. So we stood in the lift for around 5 minutes thinking that we were going up Sydney Tower when really we were just on level 5 at Sydney Westfield. We then went to Pancakes on the Rocks (they make suprisingly good coffee), and waitress looked like Emma Watson. Later I bought an amazing pair of loafer shoes which I was going to buy for full price last week and WERE ON SALE FOR $10! I had spent the rest of my money on pancakes so Eleni very kindly paid for them. I only have to pay her back if I don't have a New Years Eve. I'm currently negotiating with Mum.
I took around 50 photos but only some of them uploaded before my battery died. WATCH THIS SPACE BRO.

Pack yo boxes

I have to admit that leading up to Christmas this year I wasn't really in the 'Christmas Spirit'. Going to get the annual Santa photo in David Jones at the city and looking at the window puppet displays usually makes me excited about Christmas, however this time I was waiting for the feeling and it didn't come. Christmas Eve's day was spent watching my related text for History and Memory, under a quilt in my room, drinking iced tea and being anti-social. However, it was when we left at 8.30 PM to a family friend's party, and greeting and laughing with familiar faces that I began to be overwhelmed with the familiar and missed feeling of Christmas Spirit. As I was talking to a guy about Cuba, I realised that the source of the Christmas Spirit is not Santa or presents. What defines Christmas is people coming together and being genuinely happy- genuine happiness is the Christmas Spirit. My little brother, who I haven't been able to talk to much due to recent exams, slept up in my room, telling me how he was nervous for Santa coming and had 'butterflies in his stomach', which reminded me of my childhood when I would feel exactly the same way of Christmas Eve. Despite me being 16 and Santa not being real in my world anymore, this Chrismas has shown to me that no-one is ever to old for Christmas, and not being religious/not believing in the nativity isn't an excuse for not enjoying the Christmas Season, due to the fact that Christmas day is purely for being with the people who make you happy. The Christmas Spirit is not unique sensation. It's just happiness, and this feeling comes at Christmas time when for once you can put aside your troubles temporarily and spend this time with the people you love.

This Christmas I was spoilt, despite me not really deserving it. My favourite presents were:
  • Double bed
  • Wii (the red one!)
  • 14.1 Megapixel camera
  • Seafolly bikini
  • A beautiful China teapot
Today I went to the Boxing Day Sales in the city. Myer was absolutely disguisting- I couldn't even move. However it was great to get some retail therapy and spend my money/vouchers.

Merry Christmas!

I'll do a mega-post on Boxing Day when I'm sitting around working out how to use my new camera from Santa! I am now off to a gathering where a spa will be present. Getting in cozzies now.

Mum bought an entire charity box of giant Freddo Frogs...

It's weird not doing the 30 Day Blog Challenge....
Soooooooo recent times have been fun. My costume to Lazer-Tag was on the 'fail spectrum', with one guy even asking me if I was Hermoine from Harry Potter.....
The actual games of Lazer-Tag didn't really go well for me..yes...let's just say that on my 'statistics page' my accuracy was 4%. The people who went made it fun though- I made new friends and got to know others better.
Today:  I went to 3 cafes around the city, got 2 Santa photos, bought my brother's Christmas presents and finished Fiftieth Gate, the core text for the English module 'History and Memory'. I usually walk away from Holocaust-related texts feeling sympathetic and emotional (like after reading Fateless), but I really, really didn't like this book. It was so unengaging and he was trying so hard for it to be amazing that it just made it bland/boring/uninspiring
P.S. I want everything in the photo below.
P.P.S. I need to book in to get my blue tips. Whenever I tell someone how I want blue tips they think I say 'I want to get blue tits'. Even the hairdresser thought that I wanted 'blue tits'.

Day 30: What you want to happen next year
To see lots and lots of things happen which I would have thought to be unrealistic in the awesomest degree. Hope that made sense.

I can't believe it. I FINISHED THE 30 DAY BLOG CHALLENGE! Wow. Just Wow. What I learnt from the experience? That sometimes answering pointless questions can provide oneself with some odd sort of satisfaction!

Yesterday was my first full productive day of the holidays. I shall list my happenings in bulletpoints:
  • Woke up early with Mum and walked the dogs along the esplanade at Cronulla
  • Had an amazing (and expensive) coffee at Cronulla
  • Visited family friends in Sutherland
  • Read a bit of Fiftieth Gate (can't decide whether I like it or not)
  • Went to Steph's house with freshly baked Coconut, Raspberry and White Chocolate Muffins
  • Introduced Cindy to Skins, and, to my horror, Cindy concluded that it was 'boring', and that 'Gossip Girl is better'
  • Watched Easy A whilst eating Steph's Bubble-gum-flavoured sherbet (I really liked Easy A)
  • Watched Paranormal Activity 2 (Not that bad. Didn't scar me for life like the first one did)
  • Watched 3/4 of Scream
  • Ate yummy home-made pizza
Today I am going to LAZER TAG. The theme is 'ridiculous costumes'. I am going as a panda. Don't ask.

P.S. I really really really want a white Christmas.
P.P.S. Apart from the first photo, the rest made me laugh. ENJOYYY BRAZZ

JOSH GROBAN

Day 29: What you think the meaning of life is
Oh wow. You are like, so deep and such.
Let's see......to reproduce? Hehehehehehe. I think that there is no real meaning and it's up to you to make the most of each day and just be happpyyyyyyyyy.......is that a good enough answer? Here is a kind of related photo.

Soooooooooooo yesterday was the first day of my holidays where I actually DID something which wasn't playing Tower Bloxx on my computer. I met up with the girls at the Lindt Cafe and from there we went to CAROLS IN THE DOMAIN! We got there very, very early and there were already around 10 000 people camping out. We squeezed into a spot and set off on the journey to 8.30 PM. It rained, then got really, really hot, but Clare's Chocolate Mousse Cake and free 3 minute massages (Heaven) made it survivable. THE ACTUAL CAROLS WERE SO MUCH FUN. Although the Wiggles had some weird yoga-esque moves going on, Go Santa Go was quite epic, with everyone jumping up and doing the moves. Josh Groban is a Sex God and his voice is seriously sex for the ears. HE WAS AMAZING. Drooooooooooooooooooll.

1ST DAY OF HOLIDAYYSSS

And my little brother and I are watching Eurovision videos on Youtube.
I LOVE THIS. It's a mash-up of Teenage Dream, Love the way you lie and Dynamite. Turn it up looouuuuuuuuddd gurllll. It gets better as it progresses...and although he's a bit freaky he's kinda cute

You can't photoshop your ugly personality!

Day 29: Your favorite memory
What a stupid question...how the HELL am I supposed to choose. I've had so many moments where I've actually stopped to think to myself  life is so good. These moments include when I had my head out of the window of a steam train going through mountains, lying on the beach watching the sunset in California, and those nights with friends where you just wander around aimlessly but having all the more fun...sounds cheesy but GET OVER IT.

Today, despite being the last day of school for the year aswell as Nina's birthday, was quite sad. The following list justified my argument:
1. Recieved all my holiday homework
2. It was the last day of having Mr. Lidster as our year advisor
3. Ate too much food in class parties
4. Found out about some 'Two-faced' action

I don't blame guys for complaining about how complicated girls are and how they don't understand them. Even though I am of the same gender as women (...or am I? *cough*) I honestly do not understand some girls. IF YOU HURT MY FRIENDS EXPECT TO BE HURT. Lass style. Tracksuit, visor and all.
My friend C found out about a close friend lying to her about an event which happened a while ago. The time since the event is irrelevant. IT'S ABOUT LOYALTY. C and I have trust issues and our friendships with others is very much based on honesty and loyalty. For me, when one of my friends chucks a 'Professor Quirrel' (I.e. becomes two-faced), their 'scale' goes back down to zero and it's highly unlikely they'll ever make it back up to where they were.
C was so upset about this she vomited...and said some pretty funny stuff.
"I have never had so much hate in my heart!"
"These are fists of fury!
"I may be small....but I could take that bitch down!"
The only way to solve problems of two-faced-ness is to confront them. In the wise words of a Facebook group: I hate two-faced girls- it's so hard to choose which face to slap first! Don't take this literally :p

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO U2 WAS LAST NIGHT. I waited 8 hours in the que and was so close to getting heat-stroke. I am so sunburnt and sore today BUT IT WAS SO WORTH IT! We all got in the 'Top 100' of the mosh que and got to be in the front mosh section at the front of the stage. In front of us was a small step-ladder which had 'Bono's step'  written on it. We asked security what it meant and they told us that Bono would step on it too pull one of us out of the mosh to serenade us. WE NATURALLY FREAKED OUT. Then the worst happened. When the song came where Bono serenades the girl, THE SECURITY PICKED UP THE LADDER AND TOOK IT TO THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE STAGE. You can probably imagine my emotions at that point in time. However, despite this 'mishap', Jay-Z and I did exchange love heart hand symbols, and the stage was pretty spectacular. It wasn't as awesome as Muse but was definitely up there.

AND NOW FOR THE HOLIDAYS

I'M SO COOL

Day 28: Your favourite song
That's a tough question, but it would most likely be Map of the Problematique by Muse, played live.

So the Santa photos yesterday were of the uber awesome kind. Santa was very friendly and gave me a FREE elf mask thing...it's pretty hectic.

I went to the local Christmas carols and they were fun...and the free coffee was quite tasty. Afterwards, on the way home to my friend's house, I found SOMEONE'S iPHONE! I didn't know what to do with it so my friend Ben thought that we should take it back to my friend's house and wait for someone to call it. Someone eventually called it, and they came to my friend's house to pick it up AND GAVE US A $20 REWARD. It was then tough to decide who got the $20- Me, who found it, or Ben who took the initiative to figure out how to get it back to the owners. In the end I got it after a group vote, however had to give it Phoebe anyway because I owe her money for my Muse tour T-shirt.

Today was spent trawling Youtube watching Muse interviews/random videos, and going to Newtown with Mum, where we discovered an AMAZING shop called Yoshi Jones. Next time you're in Newtown you should go there- they have stuff ranging from plastic sushi which you wind up and it runs across the floor, to $400 dresses. Oh, and the shop smells amazing.

I have also spent this weekend watching the entire first season of Skins- I am officially a convert. The realistic acting and story-lines are a step above every other teenage TV show. It's just wow. And Tony, although being a bit on the 'Douche' spectrum, is drool-worthy x 10

COMING UP FOR CHLOE THIS WEEK:
1. U2 on Tuesday. Getting there around 12 hours early in order to be at the front of the mosh
2. Beach cricket for Jame's birthday
3. Party at Moore's Reserve
4. Mulga Tree
5. DOING WHATEVER I WANT BECAUSE I FINISH SCHOOL ON WEDNESDAY

Here is a photo of where I am going to live when I 'grow up', complete with a little boat. And someone needs to inform me where I can get the pants in the second photo.

MUUUSSEEE

Day 27: What you want for Christmas
Apart from the unrealistic wants of Dominic Howard (the drummer of Muse), and a ticket to Glastonbury Festival, I really really want a camera, to document my last year of school and to post the photos on here! I'm liking this idea.

MUSE REVIEW:
I'll try and sound semi-professional:
IT WAS ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE. WORDS CANNOT DESCRIBE IT'S EPICNESS/AMAZINGNESS/INCREDIBLENESS

I went in with expectations higher than the end of the universe, and Muse soared beyond there. You seriously cannot explain how amazing they are live- you simply have to go and see them regardless of whether you like their music or not. Watching Muse live should be a human right.

Highlights:
  • The opening- it was totalitarian themed. I'll post a video of the opening under
  • Starlight- I wasn't expecting it to be so amazing live
  • Knights of Cydonia- the last song played; blew me away
  • Hysteria- DJLKSNFJKDSLNFJKDSNFJKDS
I got there with Phoebe 8 hours early and there were already around 300 people there. I went to buy the tour t-shirt to find that it was TEN WHOLE DOLLARS more than the price on the website so I sacrificed my dinner money to buy one. Yes, I got hungry. It was sweltering hot but I made heaps of friends throughout the duration of the wait in the line, including one guy whose family friend is THE ONE AND ONLY GEOFFREY ROBERTSON! 8 hours later, Biffy Clyro were absolutely fantastic at opening the show- I will pay to see them play a full set if they ever come on tour here in Australia again.

Yesterday was Presentation Day (snooooooozze), but afterwards Clare brought and amazing cake she made and we ate it in Hyde Park. We didn't have forks so we ate it with our fingers and spoons- it's flavour was 'Chocolate Chocolate' and was basically chocolate mousse with a cooked base. YUM!

Then a woman came and asked for permission to take a photo of us. TURNS OUT she is the woman behind the blog What Made Me Happy Today! I shall post the photo here when it comes onto the blog! HOW COOL IS THAT. FSDFDSGFDHFJFJDFGDF

Today I have written my letter to Santa, getting a Santa photo later on in the day, then tonight going to the local Christmas carols!

Not even this captures how excited I am. Tomorrow night at precisely 8.00pm I am going to die and go to heaven. But then come back to reality at 11.00pm...abit like Harry Potter in the 7th book. I am getting there at 12 in a desperate attempt to meet Muse...I'LL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES. WATCH ME.

Today at school my thoughts consisted of:

Day 25: Something you miss
Last year.
However, this year I have had some incredible experiences and have met some amazing people.
If only I could take these events and people and put them into last year....Copy and Paste?

I HAVE THESE SHORTS!!! Wooooottt
Today was just a bit boring. It was hot, I had little sleep last night, and didn't have enough money for coffee, so yeah, today was death. However, I trudged home thinking that there was no afternoon tea to find: A PACKET OF OREO BISCUITS AND WHIPPED CREAM! Let me tell you that nothing tastes better......

MUSE IS THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW!
TOMORROW I CAN SAY THAT TOMORROW IS MUSE!
THE DAY AFTER THE DAY OF TOMORROW IS MUSE!
THE DAY AFTER THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW I WOULD HAVE BEEN TO/SEEN MUSE!

Then 5 days after Muse
...it's....
U2!!!! I'm taking the day off school to camp out so I will be at the front of the mosh. You have no idea how determined I am to touch Bono....and how even more determined I am to meet MMUUSSEEE

Sooooo...

Day 24: Do you wear glasses?
No, I don't wear glasses. However when I get around to it (I.e. when I have money) I am going to by myself a pair due to the fact that they make me look smarter....heeeheeeeheeee.
Today = :(
I don't really want to recount my day today, so I'm going to post a video instead. I KNOW that I have posted a lot of videos this week but I have all posted them for a reason! Promise! And Muse is this week so I think the video below is definitely appropriate.

P.S. HOW HILARIOUS IS THIS VIDEO. Cheered me up :D

Christmas Lights

This weekend was actually really, really enjoyable. Despite me telling myself that it would be hell due to the fact that my parents jetted off to Cairns leaving us kids behind, it didn't end up being all that terrible.
Except Saturday, of course. The day was spent playing the game Tower Bloxx (if you haven't experienced it click here), for so long that my eyes began to hurt and I felt dizzy when I eventually stood up. I set off to babysit at night, with the two young boys watching Youtube videos for TWO AND A HALF HOURS. They then decided they wouldn't go to bed. When they eventually did, I sat on the lounge for 4 hours watching some random documentry on a group of disabled people trekking it through the Andys. Random, I know.

Today was spent with thaaaa girlies. At Hurstville I bought 3 tops and a bikini top, ALL FOR UNDER $50! I really wanted to buy a pair of shoes which kind of look like the ones I bought last week, and despite me telling the girls THAT THEY WERE DIFFERENT AND ONLY $20, they ran off with my bag so I couldn't buy them because they claimed that 'they looked exactly the same'. GAAAHHH. Oh and when we were eating in the food court I spilt Wizz-Fizz on the floor and the cleaner thought that it was Coke.
Great. It was quite awkward as I was telling her 'Oh no! It's Wizz Fizz I swear!'
This afternoon I went to my Grandma's to help her put up her Christmas tree (because I'm such an awesome granddaughter), and have now just returned from a cooked roast at her house. THIS IS THE LIFFFEEE.

I really wanted to go to the beach this weekend but I couldn't be bothered. I should go sometime soon to test out my new bikini top.

P.S. I LOVE COLDPLAYS NEW SONG (and the video clip that goes with it....). If this doesn't get you in the Christmas Spirit then I don't know what will.

MUSE SUPPORTING ACT

So I'm getting to Acer Arena on Thursday 8 hours before the show starts to wait outside the stage door FOR MUSE TO GO INSIDE. When they arrive I will then proceed to ambush them with my camera. I HOPE IT WORKS OUT.

I just found out the band that's supporting them and they're actually really good. Here's one of their songs....

P.S. THIS IT THE LAST VIDEO TODAY! PROMISE!

I love cute musicians.....even if they're singing about triangles

FREEEDDOMMM ZOMG (Prepare for a megapost)

Day 23: What you are looking for in a boyfriend/girlfriend (if you don't have one)
Are you people purposely trying to make me depressed that I don't have a boyfriend?

Hmmmmmm let's see.
  • Sense of humour
  • Smart (to an extent...)
  • Not arrogant
  • Someone who is prepared for: Useless arguments and and my weird/crude sense of humour.
I'M FREE. SERIOUSLY. NO MORE EXAMS*
(Until Term 1, Week 5)
I can't even remember what I used to do with my free time, so I think I'll just remain in my computer seat whilst blogging whilst drinking Irish Breakfast Tea. I like saying whilst. When you say it heaps of times it doesn't even sound like a word anymore..
So yesterday afternoon, after I had a panic attack thinking I wrote about the wrong thing for my essay in the Legal Studies exam, Cindy, Phoebe, Carol, Alex and I all went out to CELEBRATE OUR FREEEDDDOMMM! At David Jones we went up all 7 levels to go to the Magic Cave and see Santa but you could only go in if you were buying a photo with Santa. Lame.
We then went to this place at Capitol for Thai, and there was a TV in the restaurant, showing the most hilarious Thai music videos....but that's beside the point. Why do people put TV's in restaurants? Is it so if you're on a date and it gets awkward you just turn and start watching TV? But then what if you're talking to the other person and they're just sitting there watching TV? *Awwwwkwwarrrrdd*
After that we went to the Lindt Cafe at Martin Place and bought macaroons. Best one yet. Droooooll. I can happily say that it was $2.50 well spent. At Hyde Park we all realised that all of us do this weird thing with grass, except Cindy. You know that grass where you pick it then peel back all the layers then chop the soft part up with your nail into tiny little pieces? We taught Cindy how to do it. Call me weird but I'm sure you subconsciously pull apart and chop us grass with your nails too. The people sitting around us probably thought we were obscenely weird/on drugs.
After Hyde Park, walking back to George Street:
THE CHRISTMAS BUS STOPPED IN FRONT OF US!!!!!!!! We got on and the driver was Santa, there were Christmas carols playing and the interior of the bus was so decked out in tinsel and fairy lights that it hurt my eyes. But then something terrible happened.
Cindy said that she didn't like Christmas.
CINDY IS THE GRIINNCCHHH!!! My challenge for the next few weeks is to make Cindy like Christmas. Step One is for her to watch The Polar Express and Elf.
This week consists of:

  • Babysitting
  • Getting a Santa photo
  • Stalking Jake Gyllenhaal at his premiere
  • MUUUUSSSSEEEE!
  • Sneaking backstage at Muse (Phoebe and I have come up with a master plan based around us being work experience students)
  • UUUUUU2222222222 (Take note of excessive use of capitals due to my excitement)
  • Getting exams results back. Cough.
  • DOING ANYTHING I WANT BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE EXXAAMMMSS
