AMAZINGNESS

Need I say more?

P.S. Today when I was walking to Edmunds and Greer, I thought to myself "I think that it's time to stop getting a sugar in my coffee". I ordered one anyway (Why would I ever actually try and be healthy? Life's to short). When I collected it, my favourite barista (Sean, the one who looks like Zac Efron) said "Wait, you usually have a sugar, don't you? I forgot to put one in!". Needless to say, I drank my first coffee without a sugar and I can confirm that I will continue my coffee-drinking career without it.

P.P.S. Every time I go to watch the AFL I always end up freezing and getting sick. I went to Swans v Collingwood game last night, and for the first time in my life I actually put effort into wearing as many layers as I could to prevent getting sick for the holidays. I wore socks, tights, leggings, skinny jeans, tall boots, a tight singlet, T-shirt, long-sleeve top, huge knitted jumper and a thick black trench coat with a scarf around my neck and a black beanie on my head. I can confirm that my protection achieved my desired outcome (I AM NOT SICK! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO)

I HATE TECHNOLOGY.

I HATE IT.
Here's why:
I was on my Mac, was slaving away on my extension history (which by the way, is surprisingly coming along ok), and I had just reached 2500 words (the word limit). I had been working on it since 9.00am and it was now nearing lunchtime. Then the unspeakable happened.
The spinning rainbow of death appeared on the screen.
And I hadn't saved my work.
For those who don't have a Mac (lucky you), when the 'spinning rainbow of death' that I speak of appears on the screen, basically if you haven't saved you document you're &^%*&#. I honestly don't know what I did to make Karma hate me. Maybe it was when Phoebe and I were little and used to set ants on fire with our gas lighter.

Mum made me feel a tad better when she game home from shopping with a cute day planner from Typo (my new favourite shop), and a bag full of cookies from Cookie Man. I swear, when I hand in my extension history major work during the second half of lunch on Friday, I am going to walk out, kiss the floor, press play to the song below, turn it up full blast, and then embark on a victory lap of the school.

Boohoo (The WHY MY LIFE SUCKS EDITION OF FLOWER GIRL)

So here's a quick FYI before I begin my rant:
Due at the end of next week is my FINAL history extension major work, and my first (6000 word) draft for Extension 2 English.
Last week I handed in my second draft of my history extension major work to my teacher. He gave it back to me yesterday and here's how the conversation went- "Chloe...the girl who did this essay topic a couple of years ago made it make sense....you fail to do this. Oh, and the word limit is 2500, not 1700". SOOOOOOO NOT ONLY HAVE I GOT TO REWRITE MY ESSAY, I HAVE TO WRITE AN EXTRA 700 WORDS. Whhyyy oh why did I not know the word count?! And HOW can I make it make sense! It's analysing whether history can end!! So yeah, it's proving quite difficult

Grrrrr.

I've also become addicted to Masterchef. Great timing, I know. Hayden is quite easy on the eye. Kind of like a surfey, Aussie version of Zac Efron. Almost as yummy and delicious as the food on the show (was that too far? I thought it was funny. Or maybe it's me being delirious due to my 3 major works).
Oh, and George Craig (the British Indie-rocker who is my future husband. Click here for an image of the beautiful creature that is George Craig) has a new girlfriend. AND SHE'S A &$%;^%$* X-FACTOR CONTESTANT. I am seriously doubting his taste in women right now. Or maybe it's just me being a jealous teenage girl.

On top of all of this, I have run out of herbal tea, as well as money to buy coffee for the rest of the week. Oh, and my lips are sore and I can't find my Blistex, I lost one of my favourite skull earrings, I spent all my money on clothes just before I found out that Joshua Radin was having a concert on Tuesday night, I got a notification for my next English Advanced and Extension assessments despite our previous exams finishing less than a week ago, I am disappointed that Angry Boys isn't funny anymore (or ever was), Glastonbury Festival has started in England today and I am sitting at my computer in Sydney typing this instead of being there, my fridge is out of milk so I can't make myself a milo or an Irish breakfast tea, I did relatively crapply in drama, I should be doing History Extension but I'm typing this instead of actually making progress on my crap essay, but I can't make progress because I don't understand my arguments, I want to go to bed now but I can't because I have so much work to do, I can't wait until the holidays, but, oh wait, they're two weeks away, I keep telling myself to go for runs in the afternoons but here I am blogging inside whilst eating Oreos, AAAANNDD I want year 12 to end, but hey, that's not happening for a looooong time. LIFE IS LOOKING GOOD PEOPLE (lol jks).

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
I HAVE OFFICIALLY REGISTERED FOR GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL 2013 TICKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was literally last night that I made a pact with Phoebe, Cindy and Eleni that we would all attend the 2013 Glastonbury. Next year's festival has been called off because of the Olympic Games in London, so Phoebe and I went on the website this morning to discover that registration had now opened for the 2013 festival!!!
By then I'll be in second year uni and have a part-time job so it'll be all sweet. Oh, and Muse isn't playing at this year's festival (that starts at the end of this month), so basically it's a given that they'll be performing at 2013. WOOOOOOOOOOOO! If I have enough $$, I might even travel for a bit around Europe. LIFE IS LOOKIN' GOOD PEOPLE. LOOKIN' QUITE GOOD.

Other developments in my life:
-For part of these holidays that are coming up, Phoebe, Eleni and I are going down the coast for a bit of a break at a house on the beach at Broulee. It's going to be thaaa booommbbb.
-The 2nd Harry Potter 7 trailer that I posted below literally made me cry
-My Nan is knitting me a Gryffindor scarf
-I'm in love with my red velvet skirt. A tad obsessed.
-I've started trying out the Clinique 3-Step skin-care routine. THE TONER IS AMAZING HFOEWNFOIUSDJFDSF
-I reeeeeaallyy like Betty Crocker Chocolate Icing. Mmmnnomnnnom
-I'm going to publish this post then go and buy a Maxi-Bon

P.S. I loooooove this song! I remember when Matt Corby sung it on Australian Idol (back in the days when people actually watched it) and I fell in love with both him and this song.

P.P.S. Just in celebration of Glasto 2013 registration

An above-above average day

So my exams finished yesterday (if you somehow managed to miss the huge capital letters in the post below), so today was technically my first full day of freedom.
Some girls from my drama class and I went to Sydney Theatre Company for a workshop for one of the plays we study for the HSC. It turned out to be really good, but when we came out of the theatre we were met with TORRENTIAL RAIN. And neither Clare or I had an umbrella.
When we had found shelter, using our scarfs as 'umbrellas', we called our friends who were at school about to sit their last exam. We organised that we would meet up in 3 and a half hours when their exams were done and hang out for a while. So Clare and I had 3 and a half hours to waste.
Basically to pass the time we set ourselves a challenge-to do as many free things in the city as we could, all the while maintaining fake British accents.
We spent $4 on boiled lollies to last as our 'energy food' for our quest, and set off to find 'free' ways of passing time. First we went for a stroll in the in Rocks, then went to the Museum of Contemporary Art (where I watched what was literally the most random video I have ever seen), and went to Customs House, where we sat on the lounges where I read The Irish Times and Clare read some French newspaper (she translated an entire article on Koalas for me).  We also met some pretty cool people too-these three guys on Pitt St who were collecting money for Oxfam gave us 'free hugs' when we told them of our challenge (and one was really cute/had a cute British accent/name was Jake). They even offered to give us a bit of money if we couldn't find any food 'freebies' for lunch. Clare and I then set off to David Jones where we tried on 'free' perfume samples and make-up, then watched the man playing the grand piano in the hand-bags section. As the clock was reaching 3.00, we settled down on some chairs next to the harbour, a 'free' front row view, where we finished off the boiled lollies. Some American students came down near us and were all taking photos of seagulls. I overheard one guy exlaim how "cool it would be if the seagull dived into the water and fully had a fight with a fish, bringing it dead back up to here". Not really helping them break their stereotype.

WOOOO0O0O0O0O0O0O00OO00O0O0O0O

I come with important news:
MY EXAMS ARE OVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I have honestly never studied so hard for a set of exams. Soooooooo glad they're over. The one I was by far most stressed about was Modern, where we had to write three essays in an hour and a half. For the one on Anglo-Irish relations, I had written and memorised an essay with a question I had found in a past paper:
Assess the reasons for the rise of the civil rights movement and the subsequent violence in Northern Ireland in 1968-70
When reading time started, I flipped over the sheet with the essay questions, and guess what the question for the big 25 mark essay was?
Assess the reasons for the rise of the civil rights movement and the subsequent violence in Northern Ireland in 1968-70
WORD FOR WORD BRO. I literally fist-pumped.

A moment when didn't fist-pump was when I realised that I had made up yet ANOTHER word, AND HAD USED IT IN MY ENGLISH ESSAY'S THESIS. I swear 'Idiociratically' was a word, meaning 'unique'. So in my comparative essay I wrote that the two authors approach the mutual issues 'with perception but idiociratically'. Oh dear.
Post-exam life has been pretty sweet so far. Some of my friends and I went to see a play at Sydney Theatre Company (that I talked about in a previous post) called The White Gaurd, with Miranda Otto. It was undoubtedly one of the best pieces of theatre I have EEVVEERR seen. The cast/costumes/acting/stage-effects/plot/everything else was brilliant.

Then I went for a bit of retail therapy where I bought:
-Velvet red skirt
-3 pairs of shoes
-Knitted jumper
-Top

I sacrificed my money for a train ticket for the last pair of shoes, so as I approached the station I was working out how I could get through the barriers without a ticket. As I was thinking of ideas, I saw that one of the gates was open and I literally sprinted faster than [insert something really fast].

Tonight's agenda involves:
-Sitting on the lounge
-Watching Masterchef
-Watching the Glee season finale
-Watching Angry Boys
-Doing absolutely nothing and NOT FEELING GUILTY ABOUT IT!!

PROCRASTINEATING

Kind of sums up my life at the moment. Nodded in agreement when I proudly joined the Facebook group. My diet today has consisted of coffee, countless packets of Tiny Teddies, cake-bars, and sticky-date cupcakes. Basically when I'm bored I either:
A) Have a shower
B) Eat
C) Sit outside in the rain with my dogs
I've also found that during these exam periods, when I'm writing out my essays, I've found that I've been subconsciously making up heaps of words, like 'Propelliating'. I'm really hoping I won't get marked down for it....I'm being inventive right!!!?? RIGHTTTT??!!!

Yesterday I headed into the city to conduct some much needed retail therapy. I walked past the new(ish) Zara store. Walked into the new Zara store. Needless to say, I am now a proud Zara convert. When it opened everyone had talked it up so much I thought that it wouldn't be all that impressive, but it is. Went a bit crazy, to say the least.

I then met up with my family in the city to go and check out the Vivid festival. As soon as we stepped out, it started pouring with rain. I was wearing ballet flats and a 3/4 sleeved jacket. Freezing+Wet+Tired+Hungry=Not a pleasant experience. The raining stopped after about an hour and a half, and we got to see the 3D lights on the Opera House and Customs House which were REALLYYY cool, and then got the train home where we went to eat Italian. Mmmmmmnonomnom.
The last time I had an exam was on Thursday, so since then I've just been writing out my Modern essays over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. The exam's tomorrow, so I'm hoping that I somehow go in there and do decently. Dat wult b nice.

My post-exams life is going to be FANNTTAABBULOUUSSSS. On Wednesday afternoon I'm seeing The White Guard at Sydney Theatre Company then going shopping with Phoebe, and on Thursday I'm going to Sydney Theatre Company again for a workshop for drama. I really like the area that it's in so it'll be nice to spend some time there. The cafe next to the theatre does EXCELLEEEEENT coffee.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

EXCITING NEWS:
FLOWER GIRL'S FIRST BIRTHDAY WAS ON SATURDAY!
I can't believe that I have been writing on this blog for an entire year. The blog/my life has seriously changed SOOOOOO MUCH. WOW.
After reading this post, I definitely encourage you to read back on my first few posts and look how far I/this blog has come. It started out as me posting photos I had taken OF MY LITTLE COUSIN! Then for a period it turned into a fashion blog, then I felt as though that was too superficial so I changed the direction into purely writing about my feelings/thoughts/rants.

THANK YOU to all those people who have stuck with me throughout the past 12 months (and two days), who have put up with my rants/being over-optimistic at times/semi-emo posts/complaining/boy troubles/odd perceptions/tales of seeing my Modern History teacher at Edmunds and Greer/music/photos/recounts of my life/everything else I write about/post. Recently I realised that if you read my blog so far from start to finish, you would actually know quite a lot about me (and when I say a lot, I MEAN A LOT). I really do hope that none of you are freaky horny middle-aged men.

Wuv you all. Seriously.

Now on to more important news:
I HATE EXAMS (yes, I know that this is not a new revelation)
At least they'll be over by next Thursday. I'll be quick (because English Advanced is calling my name), but here are some updates on the never-ending story that is my life, for those who care:
1. LEGAL SAW THE DEATH OF ME. I had literally been preparing for it for about 3 weeks, and the question was so unexpected. Bah.
2. I am obsessed with Passion Pit and The Two Door Cinema Club. Click here for a weird/cool/experimental song by Passion Pit, and here for just all-round awesome song by Two Door Cinema Club.
3. I genuinely have never been so excited for holidays. I NEED A BREAK.
4. I am addicted to Tumblr. Keep checking mine! (The link's up the top of this website!). Looking at photography is really relaxing/a good de-stresser (if that's a word)
