Developments in my life since I last wrote:
1. We got our year 12 jerseys=new-found sense of authority. I feel like shouting 'LIKE A BOSS' every time I'm walking down a corridor. Yesterday, I bumped into a junior.....AND DIDN'T EVEN SAY SORRY. I'm such a bad-ass.
2. I finished my year book page. A bit of a gel-pen overdose, but what else was I supposed to use to make it look pretty?
3. Exams are next week, so don't expect much from me this week. SUPPORT ME IN MY STUDIES. You going on this blog=page views=me wanting to write things.

LOL

This may or may not be the worst ad I have EVER SEEN. LOL. I'm sure his acting career is going to kick off. And kudos to the special effects people for the 'realistic' flying they've got going on there.

NEW LIFE PHILOSOPHY(S)

1.I got a bit sad yesterday after hearing something, and then it occurred to me that every 60 seconds you spend being sad/angry, you loose 60 seconds of happiness that you'll never be able to get back. So basically, stop being sad over people who aren't worth being sad over and who are instead wasting valuable seconds of happiness in your life!

2.Whenever I have a lot of work to do (I.E. NOW), I have a habit of lying on my bed drinking tea, feeling really, really stressed and evidently not doing much about it. As I was doing exactly this on Monday afternoon, lying on my bed thinking about and avoiding all the work I have to do, my mind raced back to a lecture a psychologist have for year 12 at the beginning of the year. When you feel stressed, avoiding what's making you stressed isn't going to make that feeling go away/improve your situation. So in order to feel more relaxed, why don't you actually do that work? No-one can deny the fact that finishing a task comes with an immediate and lasting feeling of satisfaction.
It seems relatively simple, kind of a duurrr/obvious statement, but I just stopped to actually consider what she was saying. How about instead of worrying about all the work I have to do and doing nothing about it, I actually do it? So that Monday night, I made a to-do lost of all the things I have to do/that are making me stressed, and I broke them down into tasks to complete every day, and I am proud to say that I HAVE ACTUALLY STUCK TO IT. It feels sooooo good to tick off a task (almost as good as the first sip of coffee on a cold morning, like today), and I'M ACTUALLY GETTING MY WORK DONNEEEEE!! I MIGHT JUST SURVIVE YEAR 12!! Eternal snaps for me. Actually, eternal snaps for that psychologist.

In the MX this afternoon, I came across an article on a Canadian couple deciding to let their newborn child choose their gender (i.e are raising their baby 'gender neutral') to avoid putting society's limitations on it. They believe that the child has the right to choose it's gender. Am I just post-modernist, or is that a perfectly acceptable/if not great idea? Why not let the kid choose? Ok, maybe I just am too post-modern...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNDDD

I am officially sick. Sick enough for me to decide to....drum roll please....
TO NOT GO TO SCHOOOOL TOMORROW. (First time I've taken a day off since year 10).
Yeah, turns out that going out last night didn't have an all too positive effect on my health, seeing as though I was already sick. A pretty good case of 'I told you so' on Mum's behalf. Sooooo today I woke up with a chesty cough annnndd have been reveling in self-pity for the entire duration of the day. Oh, and to make my day even BETTER (note sarcasm), I ran into my modern teacher at Edmunds and Greer. AGAIN. *facepalm*

Today my 10 year old brother finally saved up enough to go out and buy an iPod Touch. It was pretty much a big wake-up call for me to start saving for America- if my little brother can save, why can't I? OH WAIT. I have a coffee addiction.
Woo.
So I've come up with an action plan. Instead of having a small coffee a day, I'm limiting myself to 3 a week (a week being 7 days, not a school week), and filling in the rest with Irish Breakfast tea. So I'll be saving..yeah I don't do maths/don't have a calculator, so you work it out. HAVE FAITH IN MEE PEOPLE!
I'm off to go and lie down, revel in more self-pity.
Taa taa x
P.S. I love this soonngggg so much. I love pretty much every song by these talented people.

Randomness

So after a long day (and yes, I had a coffee this morning. It has never tasted so good), I came home, made tea, and got on Tumblr. It was so peaceful and quiet, then at approximately 6.30pm the door bell starts ringing frantically. I run over to open the door, and Mum, Dad and my little brother Chris run in. Mum's yelling, Dad's yelling, and all I can make out is that Dad's sliced his finger really badly and has to go to hospital. Before running back out the door, Mum yells at me to make Chris dinner while they go to hospital.
Dinner.
Me
Make
DINNNEEERR!!??

I honestly couldn't cook to save my life. Only last year did I learn how to 'make' cup noodles (I used to think that you put the sachets in the boiling water, not pour the contents out into the noodles), and I don't even know how to turn an oven on.
After Mum and Dad had gone to hospital, Chris started watching TV and I opened the pantry doors, looking at the shelves like an idiot. I thought I could get away with giving Chris toast or cup noodles for dinner, but I knew that he would tell Mum, so I began to search for things I could 'cook'.
In the pantry, all I could see were ingredients, and I don't know what to do with any of them, so I looked in the fridge instead. My eyes settled on a packet of Coles Butter Chicken that Dad must have bought a couple of days ago. I picked it up and on the back of the packet it says what to do with it. I needed to:
1. Take the lid off
2. Poke holes in the plastic sheet
3. Put it in the microwave for 3 minutes

I took the lid off, found a knife to stab a few holes, then put it in the microwave. It took me an embarrassingly long time to get it to 3 minutes- first I set it to 3 seconds, then 30 seconds, then 18 seconds (don't ask). I FINALLY got it to 3 minutes, and when it started cooking I genuinely asked Chris to back away from it due to me being scared that I did something wrong (like not stabbing enough holes) and that it might blow up. Recently I placed a yogo in its cup in the microwave, and it didn't occur to me that you can't put that sort of plastic in microwaves. I was watching it turn around in the microwave when all of a sudden there was a white light which I could see for a long time whenever I blinked. It burnt a hole through the plastic, but I are the yogo anyway. It didn't occur to me that it could have poisoned the yogo or something.
So yeah, the butter chicken survived and Chris, Phoebe and I ate it. I COOKED SOMEEETHINGGG!!!!

I'm in love with this guy's videos. HE'S SOOO CUTTEE HFUISHLNFJSDKHNFS.

I'm sick.

Not as in the awesome sick. The virus sick. My ears, throat and nose all hurt, and the sad thing is that I'm not willing to miss a day of school to get better. HFUISDHFUISD.And I haven't had a coffee ALLLL WEEEEEEKK. It's probably the absence of caffeine in my blood that has made me sick! Or it could just be the absolutely freezing cold weather....that's not too enjoyable when you've lost your tights...

I saw this picture today and I have since decided that I need this room/bed/closet.

Today, I was told the coffee lady that we had just finished studying Stalin. I was particularly interested to hear her say that she thought Lenin was just as bad as Stalin. She told me that "Russia is a beautiful country that has always been run by idiots. Don't tell anyone".

Recently Phoebe and I realised how addicted to coffee we are, and it got me thinking: Why do I like coffee so much? What is so good about it? It's just a hot drink, like tea and hot chocolate. I began to think of reasons why I like it:
-The foam, with the sprinkles of chocolate on it. It truely is the best way to start off a drink
-The creamy taste of coffee is just so soothing, I can feel it gradually warm up my whole body
-The armoa is pretty much sensational
-It wakes me up and is energising
-IT'S JUST SO TASTYYYY

Whoever wrote this is definitely a fellow coffee addict:

I HATE CONFUSING MYSELF

Sorry I haven't update in a while- I've been so busy with school that:
a) I haven't had anytime to write
b)Nothing particularly remarkable has happened in the past few days

Despite my entire existence being an embarrassing moment, something particularly cringe-worthy happened a couple of days ago.
I was having a relatively crappy day, so instead of going to the library I went to the park near my house, thinking that it would be nice to do my homework on the grass. I was looking at my reflection in a deserted car window so I could do my hair, then when I was done I scanned my eyes through the window to inside the car. To my horror, I was to discover that the car was not so deserted. The chair was reclined, with an older couple lying down on it...yeah....I'll leave the rest to your imagination.

I proceeded to the park, and was recovering from my awkward-moment-on-steroids-moment, beginning to relax and feeling a tad optimistic. Then a family starts having a memorial service for what must have been a family member. I then came home, fell asleep on my bed, and woke up to a giant huntsman spider on my roof.
Cindy called, and I recounted my fml afternoon. She said that she hoped it would get better, and I am pleased to announce THAT IT DID. Eleni bought tickets for us to go to THE 12.01 SESSION OF HARRY POTTER AT GEORGE ST. My life in complete. Well until I meet and marry Francisco Lachowski.

COMING UP THIS WEEKEND:
-Last night I went out for my Nan's 71st birthday dinner. It was at this beautiful water-side place, and then we went back to their house for cake. I wuv ma family.
-Today I'm going to the library (no surprise there), then going to a 1990s themed party. WHAT DO I WEAR. FJIOSD;HGJOSDHGUOIDHNFGJOHDNFG.
-Tomorrow I'm going to an 'English Extension Day', and my lecturer is a teacher from my school....awkies...

OBSESSION

I am  obsessed with this photo blog (click here) by an 18 year old photographer. She has real talent. Here are some of my favourites:

This weekend has relatively small to-do list. I got loads of work done this week so this weekend I can relax a bit, which is good timing seeing as though it's Dad's birthday and Mothers' Day. I'm so tired at the moment that I'm actually going to go to bed soon. After I continue trawling Asos- best online fashion shopping site EVER. I have about 18 things I'm saving up for. Laterzzz!

Pah.

I have numerous things to say on this fine afternoon:
1. Parent teacher interviews went SO WELL. I was fearing the fatal doorbell which would signify my parents arriving home, and when it eventually rang I was preparing myself for the worst. BUT IT WAS AMAZING. They were so happy with my teachers' comments about my supposed "work ethic" that they want me to go out and party more, and do yoga more often to maintain 'balance' in my life. PARTY IN THA YIEW-ESH-AAYY
2. I had the loveliest chat with a mentally-disablled lady on the station this morning. She came up to me and asked about my crab-purse and from then until my train pulled in we talked about how hard it is to get jobs, Edmunds and Greer, clothes, phones, and coffee amongst other things. When my train came we parted ways, and I took a seat. A smartly-dressed woman who looked around my mum's age came up to me and said "Did you know that retarded person who was talking to you?" , to which I replied no, that she was purely a stranger. The lady then went on to say "Oh, because she came up and started talking to me after you left and I ran as fast as I could away from her!", laughing while she said this, then walked away. I was pretty shocked that someone would be so ignorant, and it made me so angry and frustrated how the people HER AGE and of HER GENERATION are the ones who are constantly complaining about our generation are just so self-centred and think that the world revolves around us. I wonder what my parents have to say about this representative of their generation.
3. I hate it when people choose their university degrees based on how high their ATAR is, rather than choosing a course that they're actually interested in and have a passion for. Today it is basically known that if you get 99.95 you either go into Med or Law, not necessarily because the people actually want to do them, but becausee, well, it's Med and Law and they're hard to get into. My dream is get into Sydney Uni law, and it makes me so angry that the majority of people who will be accepted into the course don't have a passion for it and aren't even considering a career in law, or are just considering a career in law because it pays well. Monday, May 2, 2011

Today I wrote down things in my phone that I felt needed to be mentioned on this blog:
1. To all the Sydney kids, I am organising a Harry Potter flash-mob which will take place the day before the final movie comes out (July 14). It will be held at the intersection outside the QVB during one of the red lights at 12pm (when the clock sounds), and then proceed to/finish at Hyde Park. It will be a wizarding war, so I'll make a public Facebook event so people know that they have to choose a side! Should be sweet.

2. I was on the train to school this morning and a really, really attractive girl came down the stairs and sat down a couple of seats away. The guy sitting in front of my, on his laptop, Googled 'Brentstreet' and as I was wondering why a middle-aged man would be googeling Brent Street, I looked over and on the girl's jacket it said BRENT STREET. Was that guy was a perve.... or is Brent street is very good at advertising  Probably both?

3. The Logies.......what is there to celebrate about Australian TV? The winner of the Golden Logie just emphasises the fact that no one really gives a shit about people who should really be getting jobs which will benefit humanity.

4. So Osama is dead.....while I'm glad that he got the ending he deserved, there's not much to celebrate as it's not going to end 'the war on terror'...it could potentially even make it worse.

The Royal edition

CHLOE'S VERDICT:
-Mum made me wear a tiara for the entire 6 hours of tv coverage. Didn't end up being too traumatic.
-I thought that Kate Middleton looked absolutely perfect. The dress, the hair, the tiara- everything just made her look like a princess. Beautiful.
-Her sister looked amazingly stunning
-The page-boys were absolutely adorable, in particular the little blonde. Naawwwww.
-The music was perrrrrfect
-EVERYTHING ABOUT THE WEDDING WAS PERRRFECT
-When the million people outside Buckingham Palace were waiting all that time for the Royal family to come out on the balcony, the giant black gates dividing them, I couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness and anger. These people are only 'royal' because they were born into the family, and those gates are stopping those 'commoners' from going into a palace which is paid for by their tax. Arrrghhhh we live in a progressive society! The royals are the definition of outdated and while I respect their history, it's really time to move on.

Now onto a moral dilemma which arose in the common room yesterday:
In assembly, one of the year 12s had a life-size poster of Justin Bieber for a prefect skit. After assembly, during recess, two year 10s appeared at the common room doors. They asked us if they could keep the poster, due to the fact that one of them is 'Justin's biggest fan'. We said no, because we wanted the poster for the common room. They left, and we posted it on the back of the door. 5 minutes later, the friend of the girl who was 'Justin's biggest fan', turned up at the door again. She said 'You know my friend who you wouldn't give the poster to? You made her cry. Can she please have it'.
I applaud the fact that she had the guts to return to the COMMON ROOM and challenge YEAR 12s. We told her that it was not our poster but our friend's who was not in the common room at that time, and repeated what we had said previously- that WE WANTED IT. If year 12s want something and say no to you, you don't come back. At least she knows now that crying doesn't get you what you want- I could cry saying that I want to marry James Franco, but that doesn't mean James Franco is going to come and propose to me upon hearing that I was crying.
After she left, Cindy said that she would have given it to her. I told Cindy that:
a) The poster looks great on the door (which it does)
b)We taught her that tears doesn't equal getting your way
c)Being obsessed with Justin Bieber is not normal, and she is now one step closer to getting over this abnormal phase
d)She is now more likely to get a boyfriend-Imagine if she brought a boy home to her room, and he saw that poster on her wall. He would be out of that room and her life as fast as Heidi Montag's chances at ever looking normal again disappeared when she made her self look like an alien.
I now pose you the question: Would you have given the year 10 girl the poster?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

CAN SOMEONE PLZ KILL ME KTHNXBI

The HSC Timetable came out today. Yeah....I HAVE TWO EXAMS ON THE SAME DAY. My law dreams are as over as Lindsay Lohan's chance at winning an Oscar.

I skipped going to the library this afternoon to come home to drink comfort tea and eat chocolate-chip hot cross buns in a sad attempt to make me feel better. They tasted good, but what really cheered me up was when Mum came home with new fluffy slippers for me and new Bonds Hi-Tops. Weeeeeooowwww. MY FUTURE LOOKS MORE PROMISING NOW. Thanks Mum.

I'm kind of glad these holidays are over. For the first time ever, I woke up feeling excited to return. Even though I didn't go away these holidays and I spent about 90% of my time at the library, a few things happened that I needed to spend some time thinking about but I've come out of the holidays feeling really optimistic about life....sounds cheesy but it's true. No more singing 'All By Myself' and sleeping on the common room couches all day.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while...I've been really busy but I've been Tumblring because it's less time consuming, so keep checking that out. Here are some thoughts:
1. I am completely anti-monarchy and pro-republic, however I am really sad and confused to admit that I am excited about the royal wedding. Mum excitedly told me that she's buying pretend crowns and is cooking a special dinner for our family to have during the wedding- a family 'party'. What absolutely disgusted me was The Chaser boys being banned from getting footage from the wedding. Like seriously, the Royal Family need to take a few chill pills and stop taking themselves so seriously. It's not like they do anything for Australia anyway.
2. It really used to get on my nerves, but I was listening to the radio on the train this morning and the song 'Price-tag' or whatever it's called came on....I like it now. It's catchy and the lyrics aren't super shallow like everything else on the radio.
3. Matt Bellamy is engaged to Kate Hudson....she better not ruin the chances of Muse playing at Glasto next year (which I am determined to be at)
4. I hit 5000 words for 4U English. What of it brah.
5. I'm completely obsessed with this cover of Punching on a Dream. LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN. You will lurve.
6. I AM SO SORRY TO ALL YOU PENPAL-ERS. STILL HAVEN'T REPLIED. I LOVE YOU ALL BUT I'M JUST SO LAZY AND FORGETFUL BUT I'LL DO IT THIS WEEKEND!

Yarrrrr me hartie

I wish I was a pirate. I don't really know why I want to be a pirate, I just do.

So I haven't posted in a while. Why? Because I'VE HAD SO MUCH FOOKIN SCHOOL WORK I HAVEN'T HAD TIME TO DO EVEN MORE WRITING.
Here is a list of updates on the life of Chloe:

  • Library
  • Library
  • Library
  • Party
  • Library
  • Party
  • MET GEOFFREY ROBERTSON (you won't appreciate this unless you do legal studies...he's my legal idol)
  • Library
  • Ate pork buns (that's where all my money goes, coffee aside)
  • Library
  • Wallowed over the fact that Dale Thomas might be leaving Collingwood.
  • Library
  • Finished off the Irish Breakfast teabags
  • Library
  • Became addicted to The Naked and Famous. Listen to this  and this and everything else they've ever recorded
  • Watched the latest Glee episode on the internet. Disappointed. Even by Glee standards the story-line is becoming stupid
  • Library
  • Started exercising again and feel soooo good. I went for the longest bike-ride ever yesterday, and although I thought I was going to die going up a few hills, I felt amazing after. Problem is I forgot to stretch afterwards and woke up this morning stiff as a brick. Walking downstairs was quite painful to say the least
  • Library
  • Freakin' OUTTTT about school returning. At least I get to see my friends everyday again. And see the coffee couple every morning!
  • Library
  • Tumblr
  • Tumblr
  • LIBBBBRAAARRYYYYYYYY
  • It's Easter tomorrow
  • Library
  • Yeah, so I think I spend more time at the library than my actual home nowadays. Some of the people who work there are so neurotic and just need to ccchiiiillll. I was in the quiet study section out the back with my coffee, and I walked outside with it to get a book, and as I walked back in a librarian came up to me "sorry, no coffee in this area". I replied "Oh ok, I'll just put my book down on my desk and then finish my coffee outside". So I put my book down on my desk, and then as I was walking out of the quiet study area to finish my coffee, the librarian pulled me over to show me a sign which said NO HOT DRINKS IN THE QUIET STUDY AREA and said really loudly   "There is to be no coffee in the quiet study area". I said "Ok! I get it!" and then he says "I'm not being rude". I said "Ok...I get it...I'll finish my coffee outside". Dear Mr. Librarian: Firstly, I do not understand why we aren't allowed hot drinks in the study area, but in the area where all of your books are. If we're allowed hot drinks in one place, with the risk of knocking it over and landing on paper, wouldn't you rather it be our paper and not yours? Secondly, all you had to say was "No coffee in the study area!" You didn't need to continue on for an extended period of time! TAKE A CHILL PILL BRO!
  • I've decided that I actually really, really need to start saving for a ticket to London when I finish school. Not only to go to Glastonbury Festival (the line-up for this years is AMAZING, even though Muse isn't there), but also to go to George Craig's new club CLUBLAD.
  • This came up on my homepage on google for Youtube's top rated video of the day. I had nothing better to do, so I clicked play. I ended up getting hooked and watched the entire thing (it goes for 16 minutes). It is so so so so so good. Watch it now or when you have time! CLICK HERE

HOLD MA SHIT

All throughout this past week I've been saying to myself how I should give my blog a break for these holidays and just go outside and get off my computer, but I just couldn't neglect you for 2 weeks and 3 days. So here I am. I'm going to write today's post in dot-points:

  • Waking up this morning to this weather was the best thing that has happened to me this week. It was absolutely pouring, and I don't think anything beats waking up in your warm double bed with a massive quilt, looking at your window which has water pouring down it. When I eventually threw myself out of bed I was to discover that Mum had bought coffee from Edmunds and Greer for meeee! So. Good. (until I took the lid off to lick off the foam and it spilt all over my ugg boot)
  • I went to a community fair (to get out of the house and enjoy this rainy weather), and at a book stall I came across a coffee-table book which is basically an old collection of pictures of London. It was only $1 and it's now sitting on my bookshelf.
  • I want one of Clinique's new chubby sticks (they're like crayons but for your lips :o) sooo preeetttyyy

  • I came across this amazing paragraph:  It's easy to get caught up in what could have happened, but the truth in the matter is that what happened yesterday, last year, or a minute ago is all history. History is written down in textbooks, journals, and diaries, it's not meant to stay in your mind forever. So. True.
  • I'm going to a friend's rave next week and I need costume ideas- the theme is basically sports/recreational activities
  • I WANT GUMBOOTS. I think I'll get plain black ones from Sportsgirl
  • I've also decided I'm going to buy a fur coat (a fake one duurrr) for winter
  • I have soooo much work to get through this coming week. I've been going to the library regularly and have somehow managed to get a significant amount work done, but I'm still only a fraction of the way there....fun fun.
  • I really hate it how my parents' generation assume that because they see one/a couple of children or teenagers be inconsiderate or badly behaved in public, our entire generation is like that. I've seen plenty of incredibly rude older people but I don't assume that their entire generation shares those characteristics. I also think that they should keep in mind that they are the generation who raised us in the first place, and that they are also the generation who have created just a few problems with the world, problems which our generation is going to suffer the consequences. We're still young, so older people should really stop having a go at us.
  • I'm soo so so so so sorry to the pen-pal peeps- I honestly keep forgetting to reply. I don't think you're all pedos/terrorists!
  • I think that Topshop coming to Sydney will absolutely diminish its appeal....

Cool beans.

The past few 24 hours have been of the above-average sort. Allow me to explain:

  • Watched The Princess Diaries for the first time in YEEAARRSS. Just as good as I remembered.
  • Got SO MUCH work done at the library this morning. I had coffee at a little cafe up the road, then sat outside until the library opened, went inside and to sit down at a table, and didn't move for about 3 1/2 hours. YEAH WHAT OF IT.
  • Went shopping and bought an amazing top which was reduced to $2. TWO DOLLARS. TWO. DOLLARSThat's what you get in return for spending lots of time painfully bending your back whilst filing through the bottom racks.
  • Had the pork bun of my LIFE
  • Got locked outside for a couple of hours, but ended up having a nice bonding session with my dog
  • And I am now currently enjoying a perfect cup of tea.
I just came across this aaammaazzinng video. I've now watched it about 10 times.

ZOMAGAWD

IT'S HOLIDAYS BRAH.
I've officially drafted 'Chloe's To-Do List-Holidays Edition', and it consists of over 20 things that I have to complete before school goes back. Lucky I have friends to keep me sane....
Friday night was reasonably spontaneous. Cindy, Phoebe and I went to an under 18's dance party, and we left after an hour, where we then wandered around Hurstville. In one random Chinese grocery store they were selling jelly fish. I now know what I'm getting my friends for their birthdays.
We found this spot up on the roof-top car park, where in the distance you can see the city skyline all lit up- even though the surrounds were fairly industrial is was so beautiful.
Last night I went out to Eleni's dad's surprise party which was held at a beautiful place on Cockle Bay Wharf. I got lost on my way, and when I eventually found the place, I walked up to the entrance and almost bumped into Eleni's dad...if he had seen me it most likely would have ruined the whole 'surprise' element...I literally SPRINTED in the opposite direction, which was a relatively difficult task due to the height of my shoes.  It ended up being such a great night, with a delicious four course meal and THREE birthday cakes. Seeing a group of middle-aged women ripping up the dance floor to The Presets was pretty inspiring to say the least. Towards the end of the party fireworks went off on the water, so we all ran outside, and it turned out to be one of the most amazing firework displays I have ever seen. I actually put down my camera and enjoyed the moment.
Today I slept in until my little brother woke me up, and was dragged outside by Mum for a walk which ended up being very enjoyable. We went to Edmunds and Greer (no sign of Ms Cooke, thank god) and had coffee and macaroons, then walked around the golf course with the dogs. I realised that I really need to get fit again! I've become waaayyy to lazy.
I've also come to realise that I have an obsession with pictures of locations. Phoebe pointed this out to me after noticing that just about all the photos on my Tumblr are of places. Here are some of my favourite photos of late:

NEARLY THERE

After tomorrow I am officially on holidays. This term has been so long and drama-filled that I am so glad that I now officially have time off to recuperate. I'm not going away, so it will be nice to stay local and just chill. That said, I have an enormous to-do list.....but I'm sure I'll find plenty of time for socialising...I've been pretty much deprived of it since exams.

Updates on my life:
  • I played hockey today against a South African hockey team and DREW! WOOOOO! All of the girls were so lovely and we took them back to the common room where they took photos of our 'hot wall', had photos with our disgusting fridge because they thought that it was funny, and played for us their 'party' music. It was actually insanely cool...kind of like African dubstep?
  • I completed and handed in my extension history draft....so so so so so so so so so glad it's GONE. I literally said to my teacher 'TAKE IT!!!!' because I needed to get rid of it.
  • Tomorrow night I'm going to some random rave....should be a good start to the holidays?
  • I love One Night Only's song they've done for Coca Cola's international ad campaign. Each year a band is selected for the campaign which is based around Coke's jingle 'Open Happiness'. George Craig is sexier than ever....just saying. It's just one of those songs which makes you feel HHAAPPYYYYY. I turned into one of those pathetic teenagers dancing in the clip. Click here to watch it.
  • One the things I want to do these holidays is to take a photo exactly like this.....

Day Eight

Day 08: If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?
Definitely being so indecisive.....or maybe my addiction to a particular hot drink that starts with a C and ends with Offee.

I usually hate poetry, but today in English advanced we read and analysed the sonnet XIV by Elizabeth Barrett Browning...I love it. Unlike a lot of poetry, it actually makes sense, doesn't take a genius to understand it's meaning and isn't pretentious. For her time, the subject matter and her feelings that she is exploring is actually quite profound.

XIV
If thou must love me, let it be for nought
Except for love's sake only. Do not say
"I love her for her smile..her look..her way
Of speaking gently..; for a trick of thought
That falls in well with mine, and certes brought
A sense of pleasant ease on such a day-"
For these things in themselves, beloved, may
Be changed, or change for thee,..and love so wrought,
May be unwrought so. neither love me for
Thine own dear pity wiping my cheeks dry!-
For one might well forget to weep, who bore
Thy comfort long, and lose thy love thereby-
But love me for love's sake, that evermore
Thou may'st love on through love's eternity-

Woah. Intense.

Lesson in life

A wise man sat in the audience and cracked a joke. Everybody laughs like crazy. After a moment, he cracked the same joke again. This time, less people laughed. He cracked the same joke again and again. When there is no laughter in the crowd, he smiled and said: "You can't laugh at the same joke again and again, but why do you keep crying over the same thing over and over again?"

DAY 7

Day 7: Choose lyrics and explain why you chose them
"Let's conspire to re-ignite
All the souls that would die just to feel alive"

I chose these lyrics for no other reason other than for you to read them. After hearing lyrics on the radio such as 'Baby, baby, baby oh', sung by artists who don't even write their own music and have no idea what the hell they're singing about (such as a 15 year old boy singing about love and a 13 year old girl singing about 'going down'), listening to the lyrics that I have posted above remind me that there are still those rare bands whose lyrics have meaning and are, in a way, actually quite poetic. Not just random shit that rhymes.

Today I am following Jane Austen's wise words. "Ah! There is nothing like staying at home, for real comfort." I'll go outside to get some fresh air, maybe even head over to a local art and craft show, but for the majority of the day I'm going to be inside in my trackies and drinking English Breakfast Tea. Sounds good to me.

Day 06

Day 6: Who is your best friend?
Nyeehhhh I don't really like talking about/listing my close friends in questions like these. It makes me sound as though I'm really exclusive or something like that.
Today I suffered for a cause. Our school hockey team versed another 'nerdy' school and we thought we would do ok, maybe even having a chance at winning....yeah...we were wrong. Very wrong. The score? 14-0.
I was defending and a huge, built girl wacked the ball as hard as she could at the goal, and my leg got in the way of making the score 15-0. It's beginning to go a bright shade of purple...it looks kind of pretty.

This weekend my schedule consists of:
History extension
Coffee

I'm in love with this song. Shoooo cuuttee.

NFUKOSDLHTVNUSHTI

Day 5: The most amazing thing that has ever happened to you
I honestly can't choose one moment. Recently, it would most likely be genuinely thinking that I failed my legal exam and getting it back today TO FIND THAT I GOT 94%! Wo0o0o0o0oooooo0o0o0o!

How far do you have to go to get some peace and quiet these days? All the distractions at home can be..well...distracting (Sorry, couldn't find another way to put it), so this afternoon, rather than going straight home, I went to a park that I always walk past but have never actually been to. It was just so peaceful, and there's been so much going on in my head lately that it was so nice to be able to lie there in the peace and quiet, doing absolutely nothing before beginning my homework. It was just me in the park (except for a year 10-looking couple making out in the corner of the park), until I heard footsteps. Numerous footsteps. A mum sits down FIVE METRES from me with her two young screaming children. This was when I was about to start my homework. Just as I was finally relaxed, these kids managed to immediately pull me from my seemingly peaceful state and force me back down to reality. I am still at the park, attempting to do my work and these kids are STILL GOING. Kids for me=Nooooo thank-you! I am literally filing through my brain trying to remember the relaxation techniques I've learnt from yoga to prevent me from walking over to those kids and saying/doing something I'll regret!

FINE

Day 4: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
London. Why? BECAUSE:
1. I could go to Glastonbury Festival every year
2. I will be living in the same country as Muse and One Night Only
3. Topshop. Enough said.
4.SO gorgeous at night
5.Gorgeous accents (I'm totally overusing the word gorgeous today..gawjuss)
6. Just one train trip away from Paris
7. Snow at Christmas
8. No 24 hour plane trips if I want to travel around Europe
9.My favourite weather almost 24/7 (cold, windy, rainy)
10. I can visit all the places on the Monopoly board...

My morning was AWESOME today. I had an amazing coffee AND they were giving out FREE bottles of Coke Zero out at Central Station. I love Coke Zero, and I walked up and down past all the people handing them out so I could get lots to put away in the common room fridge. Not for sharing.
Today my friend Hannah brought in a huge box of Cosmo magazines for the common room. Helloooo to my new form of procrastination...I went through about 7 today alone. So. Addictive.
I am now working on some notes on Trotsky. He seriously had such an amazing life. Woah. Very action-packed to say the least.
Now stop reading about me doing work and DO SOME WORK! That's if you're in school. If you're not, sit back and read about Trotsky's life just because it's interesting...unless, you know, you have something better to do......
P.S. I WANT THESE SHOES HFOSDNGIKLSGSJKHNGLSFIUGHDFUILGF.
P.P.S. I LOVE my Tumblr.... not as much as my blog (I'll always be faithful :0), but it's still great fun to post whatever photos I want! I definitely recommend it!
P.P.P.S. I think I'm in love.

Hmmmmm

Day 3: If you could only have one wish, what would it be?
I would say world peace, but:
a)I would sound like I'm off Miss USA
b)It is impossible. For there to be world peace, no-one would be able to have diverse opinions and beliefs and I think that freedom of speech is significantly important.
It's actually a really hard question. I would usually say '1000 more wishes', but I think I'll settle with 'happiness', not just for me but for all the people in my life who I care about.

Does anyone else find him extremely attractive? Despite him being old enough to be my dad, he's sexy AND funny AND is an amazing actor (watch No Country For Old Men) AND AND AND has a Spanish accent=fjsdjfiosdjfgiojsfpsgijfhio. By the way, I'm still learning Spanish. Now I'm moving on from learning the insults....I want to learn more because everything sounds sexier in Spanish. It's a fact. Exotic-ness FTW.

ROWERS ARE OARSOME

Yeah, I like lame puns. What of it.

Day Two: Explain your current relationship status
I'm currently single...I've learnt from my 'Formspring experience' that talking about relationships on the internet isn't very wise/smart.

Today I was an amazing friend and woke up at 5.15, YES 5.15, to get to school and catch a bus to the school girl Head of the River. I have now come home with not one section of my legs not covered in brown and yellow paint. I had paintings of boats on them, squiggles, and phrases such as "Public Schools FTW" and "Povo Pride" (a highlight of the day was when a private school mum came up and asked me what "Povo" meant. I said it means 'cheap' 'underfunded' and 'not private school like') . I now consider myself a rowing convert and today I was filled with so much (public) school pride that it was a tad pathetic.

I also wish to take this opportunity to rant about a song which I heard on the radio. Please listen to it if you haven't had the pleasure of hearing it already- it's called Love the Way You Are (Drunk at the Bar) by Brian McFadden.
Here are some highlights of the song:
I like you just the way you are
Drunk as shit dancing at the bar.
I like it,
and I can't wait to get you home,
...so I can do some damage.
I like you just the way you are.
Jump in the back seat of my car,
cos I like it
and I can't wait to get you home
so I can take advantage.

SO I CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE. Can you believe that a song with lyrics like that can be released? It's a man in his 30's, engaged, AND A FATHER TO 2 young girls singing a song about date rape. I honestly can't believe it. It's bad enough that a song was released making date rape sound as though it's acceptable, but to have Brian McFadden sing it, given the fact that he has a FIANCE with TWO YOUNG CHILDREN is absolutely revolting. I've done a bit of research on him, and on his Wiki it says this: On 25 February 2011, McFadden released a new single "Just the Way You Are (Drunk at the Bar)". The song has been criticised as a glorification of date rape. McFadden cancelled the shooting of a proposed pop video for the song, and asked that the song not be played on the rado, also pledging via his Twitter account to donate all proceeds from the song to rape victims. Well let's just say that he's going to be spending A LOT of money on rape victims (if he actually meant that pledge, which is highly unlikely), because the song IS still playing on the radio, and given the number of young people who listen to the radio....don't think it's going to help decrease the number of date rape victims...and as if he didn't see that criticism coming? He's just that desperate for attention...
During my research I also discovered that he said this on the radio: "Saying pink is a form of red is the same as saying homosexual is a form of male". Delta Goodrem seems to be a nice young woman, so why is she wasting her time with this sad excuse of a one-hit-wonder-now-a-sad-bastard male? Just wondering. I'm also wondering what his thoughts would be if a man took one of his daughters home, when they are 'drunk as shit', to 'take advantage of them'....

I'M FREEEEE

Here are a few updates on my life:
1. Big news: I DELETED MY FORMSPRING.Woooooooo! I didn't do it because I had cyber-warriors or anything; it was due to the fact that some things regarding not just me were taken a little out of proportion. Glad it's gone. I figured that if people wanted to ask me questions about my 'love' life, they can ask me in real life if they're really that intrigued...
2.Despite me feeling like I was going to vomit after my Ext. English exam due to how hard it was, and feeling stressed about how much I was going to fail by, I got it back today....AND I GOT 22/25! WOOOOOOOO. There had never been an exam which has caused me more stress...
3.Tumblr is SO addictive....the 'Reblog' Button is just so easy to press...that I can't stop pressing it. You should all get Tumblrs because it's great to have an outlet for your creativity.
4.Tomorrow I'm off to cheer on the girls at Head of the River. Yeah....have to be at school to catch the bus at 6.30am...not cool.I'm bringing my portable DVD player for my friends and I to watch Sex and the City in between races..I'm cool like that.
5.I feel the need to publish a 5th point but my life is relatively quiet right now...so yes.

I found a new blog challenge (it's only 15 days..nice and easy)! I love doing them and I've actually been able to stick to two so here we goooo!
DAY ONE: Introduce yourself
I don't really need to go into much detail on this question because basically, as Kate pointed out to me today, if you read my blog you know A LOT about me. In case you haven't been reading this blog for a while:
My name is Chloe, and I am a lazy 17 year old girl living in Sydney, Australia. I have two pet dogs and like fairy lights, Nutella, Muse, Phoenix, looking at the stars (like actually....it's kind of weird), good quality movies, modern history, literature, looking at wedding rings and wedding dresses despite me not planning on getting married, long sentences and coffee (please don't get me started on the wonders of this addictive substance), amongst many other things. I used to go for the Sydney Swans but this year I officially put an end to my support with Paul Roos retiring. I am relatively sensitive and tend to over-think things, I have amazing friends, I value education, and one day I'm going to be front row at Glastonbury Festival when Muse plays on the Pyramid Stage (hopefully before I turn 25...). People sometimes think that I'm a relatively simple girl, but once you get to know me I'm fairly complicated, however usually I'm the one who over complicates things. I also plan to own a finger monkey as a pet one day. THE END.

Hurrroooooo there!

Why hello there. It's been a while since I last posted, BUT BUT I can justify this!
1. Despite exams finishing last Friday, I have so much work to do that I've been working from when I get home until 10pm flat out.
2.Yesterday I was literally only home for around 3 minutes (exluding sleep...durrr) due to the fact that I was late getting home and forgot that I was going out with the parentals...
3. I'm not really up for writing much today....I'll do a mega-post tomorrow!

The awkward moment...

When you feel like crap,so you sit outside in the cold with your dog, wearing track-suit pants tucked into frilly grey socks, drinking Coke Zero out of the bottle, and your Dad buys you a Chicken Tikka roll for lunch because he saw on your blog that you love them.

It's really cold and rainy right now...

BEST WEATHER IN THE HISTORY OF LIIIFFFEEEEEEEE
This is why I want to live in London one day-This weather (but even colder and rainer) 24/7!
I am sitting inside on my bed eating brownies whilst Tumblring and reading The French Lieutenant's Woman. Yes, that is how I am spending my first Saturday of freedom. We had a cooked breakfast and Dad bought me Edmunds and Greer coffee.....perfect way to start the day.
This picture is so relevant to my life right now:

Even though this quote is from Gossip Girl, I love it. It's so true. "Destiny is for losers. It's just a stupid excuse to wait for things to happen instead of making them happen"- Blair Waldorf. I've decided that I'm going to ride my bike to the newsagents, buy a huge roll of butcher's paper, cover one of the walls of my room in it, stick a permanent marker to it, and whenever I hear quotes like these I'm going to write them on it, as well as other thoughts and photographs. Also, in regards to Gossip Girl, when I first heard that Blake Lively was the new face of their new bag, MAJOR respect was lost for Chanel in my head! WHY HER. Just because she's famous and in a crappy but popular TV show! However after seeing the photos, I've completely changed my opinion. She definitely has the style and sophistication to be an ambassador for the brand! Also also also, since we're (well I'm) talking about Gossip Girl, I want to take this opportunity to express my hatred for Taylor Momsen. FGNJKSDNFJKSDNFJKSDNFJOSDJGIOSJG. She is trying SO hard to achieve the 'I don't care about life/what people think about me' that it's just kind of backfiring. I wonder how long she's going to keep it up, seeing as though her music isn't any better then her acting...
THEN
NOW

Aaaannd now for some photos Phoebe took:
1. Chicken Tikka Roll. One of the best things I have EVER eaten. And it was only $5.50
 2. Chilling by Jedda's apartment's pool. Don't really know what's going on with my legs in this photo.
3. Cindy and my bags. Mine is Topshop and hers is Anna Sui. We're so cool. P.S. My red nail polish is Chanel and is courtesy of THE AMAZING CAROL. It's actually far better quality than all my other nail-polishes-it only chipped after 3 days! You're better paying more for higher quality nail-polish.

The best coffee in the history of life- The Workshop (it's opposite the QVB). You can also kind of see my purple tips in this photo! Woot.

Letter to the future Chloe

To my dearest (mature) Chloe,
I really hope that you are genuinely happy right now.Whether you're 26, 33 or 67, I hope that you are proud of who you are and that you are everything you hoped to be (cheesy but you can't stop me from writing cheesy things because this was written a long time ago). This is your 17 year old self and I understand that life can be hard, but just keep ''swimming" (an intertextual reference from Finding Nemo. Hope you got that. If you didn't, re-watch that movie tonight). CHLOE. We're the same person so I know that you might have been distracted and have drifted away from this letter...but please come back so I can tell you some cheesy things. Make a difference. Make a change. Leave your mark in the world while you can. Every minute counts so don't dwell on regrets and mistakes- move forward and don't waste a second because life is too short to be discontent. BE HAPPY. Wear the Muse tour t-shirt from the concert you went to with Phoebe when you were 16, all those years ago. Dance crazily to Phoenix's music that you were once obsessed with and go out to the coffee shop at Central and see if the coffee couple are still there. Are you still close with your 17 year old self's best friends? If you haven't talked to them in years contact them. Go back home and spend time with Mum and Dad-make up for those moments when you chose your friends over them.
My outlook on life is so positive right now and I hope it remains that way until I die...I hope reading these words makes you reconsider where you stand right now.
Love, Chloe :D
P.S. (Because I love my P.S's) If you haven't been to Glastonbury Festival yet, after finishing reading this letter, go onto the website and book a ticket. NOW.

I heart amazing friends.

Today was so so so so so so so above average. I have definitely placed it in my mental 'awesome days' file.
Despite school being called off for year 12 today, some of the legal study girls went on an optional excursion to a conference on Justice and the Law. The only way to describe it was aaammaazziinnngg. We had the opportunity for hear Nicholas Cowdery QC speak when it was his last day as the Director of Public Prosecutions! He is such an amazing speaker and hearing him, Greg James QC and an other female lawyer (can't remember her name....oops!) speak about their roles in the legal system pretty much confirmed for me that that's the career path I want to take. In the morning tea break my friends and I were chatting with Greg James QC, and he was telling us he has even defended a monster. He has two sons who went to Trinity and are now both solicitors.....and he told us that Head of the River is just a competition between Riverview and Joeys over who can sing hymns the loudest.

After the excursion I met up with some of the girls in my group for an intense karaoke session and it turns out that they had planned a surprise birthday party. Ate so much food that when I got home vomit came into my mouth at the dinner table. Thought you would all appreciate that detail.
Sang.So.Many.Songs. My voice is now husky and I sound like a man. True story.

I'm going to write the advice in the picture below into my '101 Dreams' book from Kikki-K and into my diary. Love it. Positive energy FTW.

KLAINE

If you are following Glee on TV, DO NOT READ THIS. PLEASE CLICK THE CROSS NOW!

So Blaine and Kurt are now a couple. It was highly anticipated and I thought that the kiss wasn't an anti-climax at all...Blaine's dialogue was pretty cute and none of it looked forced (with Darren Criss actually being straight in reality).
When Blaine said to Kurt that they were going to sing Candles by Hey Monday, I nearly shitted a brick. I LOVE THAT SONG SO MUCH (click here to hear it). The atmosphere and the lyrics of the song are PERFECT for Blaine and Kurt and the development of their relationship...however when they actually performed it....it didn't really do the song any justice. Maybe it was just me...but I was pretty disappointed! Blaine's voice suits the song though.

FRRRRRREEEEEEDDDDDOOOOMMMM

So my exams are over.....and I somehow survived them. It was a bit of a wake-up call- I don't want the next exam period to be as stressful so I'm going to make sure I work my ass off.

My viva-voce went really well, and I'm pretty confident I'll get a pretty good mark....if I don't then that's awkward.

Back in my post from two days ago, I said that after my last exam I will:  catch a bus to Coogee beach with Palto Alto (best book ever....yes, it's written by James Franco), buy a juice from the place next to Chish and Fips and then lie in the sun (it better be sunny) and swim until late afternoon. I will then come home and watch Skins until 7am the next morning.

Yeah. This is what really happened after the conclusion of my last exam: I followed Phoebe shopping around the city thinking how I should really stop wasting all of my financial resources on coffee, caught a un-air conditioned train home, arrived home after trekking it from the station, when Phoebe realises that "Shit! I left my key inside this morning!". I sat outside talking to the dogs and playing Guitar Hero 5 on my phone from 1.15pm-3.58pm. That's a long time to be locked outside when you're hungry and thirsty and want to lie in your bed watching Skins. Mum and Dad then went out for dinner with Mum's bestest friend in the universe from Newport, California (who I'm chilling with for a while after the conclusion of school), while I babysat Chris, watching fishing shows and Modern Family whilst eating lots of Crust Pizza (Tandoori Chicken) until they came home, stocked with Reeses Peanut Butter Cups and Victoria's Secret stuff from Aunty Di (Mum's BIFFL4LYFE). My relatively crap day was now immediately awesome.

Today, my first day of freedom, I am heading to the city to buy things (yes, Mum and Dad paid me to babysit my own brother....), chill at the Lindt Cafe eating Macaroons with Cindy then progressing over to the Art Gallery to check out Art Express. Sounds good to me.

P.s. I'm so going here one day
P.p.s. Keep checking out my Tumblr!

❒Single ❒Taken ✔Chillin’ at the backseat with Rebecca Black

This is actually the funniest thing I have seen in a long time....Rebecca Black shows that if your Daddy has enough money, you can do anything.

I love the lyrics "yesterday was thursday, today is friday, tomorrow is saturday and sunday comes afterwards"

The moment when you feel that the only person who understands you is Charlie Sheen...

These exams are nearly over, and I confirm that:
1)They have driven me to the brink of insanity...jks....but seriously....
2)In exams I now write so fast that I don't even bother finishing words, leaving it to the markers to finish off my words
3)It takes basically nothing to make me laugh. I now often find myself laughing at silence, and laughing at the fans in the common room. Yes, fans.
4)Up&Gos are the way to go...second to coffee however. I turned up at the bus stop after hardly any sleep with a coffee, and the bus-stop-lady-officer (the best way to describe her) said to me 'no coffee allowed on the bus'. I just gave her the 'I am in year 12 and am in exams right now, I need coffee to survive and pass said exams, let me on the bus with my coffee or I'll kill you' look and she let me on. Problem solved.
5)These exams have worn me out. It's going to take A LOT of sleep (and watching Skins) to get me back to normal.

Here are some things which have come out of my/friends' mouths this exam period:
1. In response to Phoebe's hole in her school shoe 'When it gets rainy it'll get puddled"
2. 'If there's only one samosa left I get it' 'Ok...I'll have naan then. Get it. Naan'
3. 'It's so hot in here'  'Yeah, it's an intellectual sauna'
4. 'Can you believe, that like, this time last week, like, Japan was normal and stuff?'
5. 'These exams have made me feel numb. I can't feel emotions anymore'
6. 'I don't have time to watch Glee anymore so I read the summaries on the internet'

My last exam is my Extension 2 English viva-voce, which goes for 15 minutes starting at 9.40am. Everyone please have a minute silence at this point in time to pay respect to what I will be enduring at this point in time.  I will then catch a bus to Coogee beach with Palto Alto (best book ever....yes, it's written by James Franco), buy a juice from the place next to Chish and Fips and then lie in the sun (it better be sunny) and swim until late afternoon. I will then come home and watch Skins until 7am the next morning. Can't wait.

ONLY 3 EXAMS TO GOOOO

I have two things to tell you today:
1. My heart goes out to everyone in Japan right now. It's so devastating to see that footage on the news..I just wish I could do something to help.
2. I was paying for my coffee and macaroons at Edmunds and Greer yesterday, where I had been dining with Eleni, and I glanced around the room to see where Phoebe had gone. To my absolute horror, it turns out that my Modern History teacher had been sitting at a table opposite us the entire time with a group of her friends. The worst part was that I really needed to go over to her and ask for feed back on my essay....

Just some house-keeping shiz before I rush off to memorise an essay on the Bolshevik's consolidation of power:
1. I've enabled commenting again. I blocked it a while ago for no particular reason, so now if you feel like telling me something, disagreeing with me, agreeing with me or telling me something random like 'Fluro peas like to sing off frozen newspapers',then just leave a comment.
2. Keep checking my Tumblr! The links at the top and when I find pretty pictures I post them there, rather than here, because an influx of pictures here is probably annoying for you guys.
3. TO ALL MY POTENTIAL PEN PALS, I'm so sorry, I keep forgetting to check my Hotmail. When my exams are over I'll actually go through the emails and write letters! Send me another email just in case!

P.S.I WANT THIS DRESS FHESKJDFJSFSD
P.p.s. This image made me stop and think for a bit. I hope it has the same effect on you.
